Seibert is an athletic 6-foot-6, 185-pound RHP/1B with a big upside. He runs a 6.8 60-yard dash and has a plus arm.
5/9/14 Seibert was making only his second appearance of the spring due to early season injury. 6-foot-6, 205-pounds. FB 91-92 in first inning of work out of the bullpen with occasional cut action. Settled 86-89 in next two frames. Flashed 12/6 CB (76-78 in first inning of work, 74-76 thereafter). Worked entirely out of the stretch from a high-3/4 slot. Command still an issue at times, but was around the zone more than when last seen 14 months ago. First time seeing this kind of velo in-game, as opposed to in a bullpen. Could possibly generate some late draft interest due to size and arm strength.
2/23/13 With only six pitchers remaining to throw Seibert strolled to the mound for his bullpen session. We last saw the 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect sitting 83-85 while touching 86 mph at the PA Underclass Games in September. Seibert touched 90 mph on his first pitch and began an electric bullpen that had everyone in attendance buzzing. The athletic junior sat 89-90 while touching 91 three times out of a high 3/4 arm slot. His fastball was free and easy out of the hand and had late life. Seibert also showcased an 82 mph changeup with arm-side run thrown at fastball arm speed. Seibert took three months to put down the baseball to concentrate on his body this winter and it appears to have worked. He has gained 20 pounds of good weight and seems to be on his way to elite status on the national recruiting scene.
9/26/12 Seibert, the No. 12 ranked player in the Class of 2014, threw four innings giving up two unearned runs topping out at 86mph. The 6-foot-6, 185-pound junior also showcased a 75mph curveball and a 76mph changeup. Seibert has excellent mechanics and a frame that suggests a significant increase in velocity is a real possibility.
