6-foot, 170-pound thinner, athletic body frame, with room still left to fill. A left-handed hitter who offers strength in his swing. Hits from a tall stance, using a knee high leg kick for added power to his swing. Uses a fluid load with his hands moving to his back shoulder. Swings with a slightly upward bat path through the zone, finishing with a two-handed follow through. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 7.15 60-yard dash at the event. In the infield, he shows good footwork. Fields out in front of his body, funnels the ball into his body. Transitions into a low-¾ slot with 79 mph arm strength.
9/20/15 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed hitter. Starts from a narrow, square stance with a high hands load and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Displayed a solid feel for the barrel and much improved bat speed (87 mph). Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash and showcased 80 mph arm strength across the diamond. Showed capable glove action and above average footwork while gaining ground defensively.
11/1/14 Ruggieri showed good feet and a whippy arm action, while tending to field the ball off the right side of his 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame. At the plate, he starts with an open stance and toe-taps to square, while staying inside the ball well with a slightly uphill path.
