Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 150lb frame in a high-waisted build. 7.61 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Begins tall and narrow with higher posture in the stance. Utilized a simple leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, two-handed path, working to a shallow finish on the back shoulder. Able to race the hands with short actions to the front of the plate for flush contact to the middle, pull-side of the field. Posted a T90 mph bat-exit velocity with athleticism and adjustability when changing zones.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured active footwork early in routes, chopping before setting up on-time from a moderate, shoulder-width base. Fielded cleanly with some give, funneling to the chest before an accurate ¾ release across the diamond (75 mph arm).
Pitching: RHP - Set up off the middle of the rubber with a balanced, well-paced delivery. Stayed mostly upright on his move down the slope, releasing from a H ¾ slot with down action on the FB to both sides of the plate (crossfire). Mixed in a commanded SL in the 60’s as the secondary offering.
6/22/21
Physical: 5-foot-8, 140 pounds; Lean, athletic build. 7.66 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Drops hands on the way back with an up and down stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish. More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while covers ground laterally. Hands are out in front while funnelling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 69 MPH.
