7/18/13 Thorn ran a 7.75 60-yard dash and showed the ability to make all plays around the bag at 1B. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect displayed accurate throws of 71 mph across the diamond. Thorn had a solid round of batting practice, repeatedly barreling the baseball and showed the ability to use all fields. He has a wide stance, limited stride and a flat bat path through the hitting zone that creates a bat exit velocity of 83 mph.
6/18/13 Thorn is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect that turned in a 7.53 60-yard dash time and showcased a 70 mph arm across the diamond from 1B. He utilizes a square stance and a leg lift trigger to create a bat exit velocity of 88 mph. Thorn showcased a flat bat path through the hitting zone allowing him to stay on plane to and through contact. He barreled the baseball consistently, spraying line drive to all fields.
6/12/13 Thorn showcased a flat bat path and the ability to use all fields during a solid round of batting practice. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound 1B/OF showed the ability to play multiple positions with a 74 mph arm across the diamond. Thorn went 1-for-6 in game play, but showed a solid approach and the ability to barrel the baseball with regularity.
2/23/13 Thorn turned in a 4.34 home-to-first time and threw 77 mph from the outfield. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect showed a 77 mph arm and a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Thorn consistently squared the baseball in his round of batting practice showing. He utilized a slightly open stance and a short swing path to produce consistent line drives to all fields.
9/24/12 Thorn threw 75mph from the outfield and had a bat exit speed of 78mph. He had an RBI single in Game #2 that helped the Red Team jump out to a 7-0 lead.
8/15/12 Thorn threw 74mph from the outfield and showed solid fielding mechanics. He used an over the top throwing motion to deliver throws with good accuracy and consistent carry. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound outfielder ran a 7.78 60-yard dash and a 74mph bat exit speed velo. Offensively Thorn used a solid approach at the plate to consistently square the baseball leading to line drives to all fields.
