Game Performance

Notes

7/11/23

Physical: Imposing, XL 6-foot-4, 200-pound build. 7.26 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Traditional, even stance with higher, pre-set hands. Utilized a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing through an uphill, whippy path that gains extension towards the front of the plate. Notched a T86MPH EV and 310FT distance via Trackman from an XBH approach with ability to loft; 46% fly ball rate.

Defensively: The primary first baseman did not throw on this date, but flashed a lower posture and some lateral feel when coming off the bag. Arm-strength has previously been around the 70MPH mark.

6/15/23

Physical: 6-2, 200 pounds; Long, Slight build. 7.17 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a short swing path with a late one hand finish.  More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while covering ground laterally. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot.   INF - 67 MPH.

6/14/22

Physical: Strong upper-half in an imposing 6-foot-2, 190lb frame. 7.24 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Upright, narrow/open stance, as the hands waved in rhythm high above the head. Utilized a short leg-lift stride, holding taller posture while initiating the swing through a flat, whippy path towards a one-handed finish. Recorded a T90 mph bat-exit velocity on this date and lived on the sweet spot at an 82% clip via Trackman. Did damage when getting pitched out over the plate.

Defensively: The first baseman showcased average feel around the bag with a soft glove hand that played low to the ground. Set the feet towards the target from a wide base, delivering an accurate 64 mph throw across the diamond (short H ¾ slot).

2/27/21

Physical: 6’1 185lb C/OF ran a 7.39 laser timed 60-yard dash. Solid frame for still a young player. Room to grow and develop in all areas of his game.

Offensively: Starts in a simple set up with the hands close to the center of the body. Has a quick and aggressive hand load as his front foot strides forward. Stays inside the ball and drives the ball back through the middle of the field.

Defensively: Receives from an old school, squatted stance. Receives out front of the body. Has a hitch in his catch and throw process. Transfer between glove and hand was seamless.
