Physical: Lengthy, projectable 6-foot-4, 185lb frame. Gamer who has dominated the WPIAL.
Pitching: RHP. The strike-thrower begins off the middle of the rubber; slightly above-average pace that rides the hip-hinge nicely down the mound. Timed up delivery that works to arm-side heavily on 87-89MPH FB from ¾ slot; 20 inch HM. Mixed sharp two-plane CB at 2147rpms, which projects as out-pitch. Added a quality 78-80MPH CH, up to 21 inch HM. Master at pronating.
Pitching: RHP - Started off of the middle of the rubber and turned in one of the day’s better overall ‘pens. The command was striking; balanced delivery created some good stretch down the slope. A heavy, sinking FB held the arm-side corner at 84-86 mph with up to 20 inches of HM. Mixed a two-plane 71-72 mph CB that flashed swing/miss, showing 10 inches of depth. Also placed a 75-77 mph CH wherever he wanted, notching a 60% zone rate. Feel for three pitches, more velocity to come.
2/07/21
Physical: High-waisted, projectable 6-foot-3, 160-pound frame with length in the movements.
Pitching: RHP - Started from the far left side of the rubber with a pause in the side rocker giving way to a medium-high leg lift just above the belt line. Good drive down the mound with some hip-shoulder allowing the arm to produce up to 18 inches of horizontal movement on a 78-80 mph FB with increasing command to either side of the plate (43% zone rate). Mixed a tight, downer breaking ball with an average of -16.9 inches of IVB while dropping in an occasional 72-73 mph CH as well. The FB/CB pairing showed immense confidence and the righty will be worthy of a follow with a frame to dream on and a solid one-two punch on the bump.
