Physical: Strong rotational skill set at 5-foot-11, 178lbs. 7.30 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched, even stance, as the hands operated higher at a 45 to begin. Utilized a leg-kick stride with some separation present to initiate the swing through a flat path with acceleration out in front. Recorded a T92 mph exit velocity during his round with middle of the field success and a well-sequenced lower-half. Lived on the sweet spot, finding XBH to the pull-side gap.
Defensively: The backstop featured hip mobility and a soft glove-hand in the crouch. Pop times ranged between 2.06-2.11 with impressive arm-strength, loading up for an 80 mph bullet that carried to the target (H ¾ slot).
6/15/21
Physical: Average build at 5-foot-10, 173lbs with some strength found in the actions. 7.58 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly wide, open stance with the hands operating by the ear to start; utilized a knee knock/leg kick stride to initiate the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Finished to the backside shoulder, promoting a line drive approach through the middle of the field during batting practice. Some rotational movements to the swing, but stayed on plane consistently producing occasional extra-base hits to pull (LCF). Notched a T88 mph bat-exit velocity, offering good bat to ball skills en route to a 56% line drive rate via Trackman Baseball. Developing middle of the order presence with minimal swing/miss.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a balanced, low LKD setup in the crouch, receiving quietly with the glove hand. Pop times ranged from 2.06-2.08 with a strong move off the backside, staying moderate in the posture and in-line with the shoulders at release (T70 mph arm, quick exchanges).
2/14/21
Physically: 5’10 173 lb C ran a 7.62 laser timed 60 yard dash. Average build with room to add strength and size.
Offensively: Starts with a wide base and uses a knee knocking leg kick to create his timing. Hands control the bat pretty well and work the barrel in a downhill plane into the hitting zone. Catches the ball out in front of the plate and drives the ball to his pull side gap.
Defensively: Receives from a 1 knee down set up. Gets into a more traditional squatted stance when preparing to make throws to bases. As he receives the pitch, his feet replace themselves and he works a short short arm swing on his throws.
2/22/20
Physical: 5-foot-9, 168-pounds. Strong frame. 4.74 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Tight stance, back knee is bent, bat and hands are held against his back shoulder, large inverted leg kick, hands get through the zone quickly Upward swing path, quick hands with strong contact, two handed finish. Strong contact pull side. 74 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: 2.33-2.42 pop times. Low stance, strong frame, gains ground with footwork, accurate throws around the bag. Long arm swing, high 3/4 arm slot. C - 63 MPH.
