A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Highly athletic two-way skillset at 6-foot, 170lbs. Bucknell recruit and 7.16 runner.
Offensively: RHH. Wider, even stance, as the hands started flat over the shoulder to begin. Utilized a short leg lift stride to initiate an uphill path into the hitting zone. Recorded a T91 mph bat-exit velocity into the 341 foot range towards LCF gap. XBH approach and solid rotational acceleration scores during his BP round; twitchy.
Defensively: The shortstop featured advanced footwork using a multitude of routes to create angles on the ball. Fielded softly out in front with loose hands, funneling inwards before releasing up to 86 mph across the diamond from a H ¾ slot. Made all the plays and controlled his body on the run.
Pitching: RHP. Set up off the left side of the rubber; above-average pace out of a compact delivery. Repeated over the front side and landed 86-88, T89 mph FB at 2560rpms for strikes. Added sharp, two-plane 67-69 mph CB and small fading 78-80 mph CH at a 40% clip. Two above-average pitches in the arsenal.
2/19/22
Physical: 6-foot-0, 170 pounds; Broad shouldered, athletic build. 7.2 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; upright bat position. Lifts hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 94 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are soft with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 84 MPH. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 89 MPH, while sitting 86-88 MPH; life through the zone. CB: 69-73 MPH; showed depth. CH: 78-80 MPH; fading action. Mature approach on the mound, plates 3 pitches for strikes with a high profile FB.
6/15/21
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 155lb frame with flexibility in the movements. 7.56 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, wide attack with slightly bent knees and upper body rhythm to start. Utilized a quick heel raise, getting back down and racing through a flat path into the hitting zone. Produced lots of line drive contact towards a high finish on the backside, allowing for good barrel control during a solid batting practice round (44% line drive rate via Trackman). Top of the order type approach, finding success through the middle/LCF side of the field to the tune of 85 mph bat-exit velocities. Able to provide doubles power on occasion, working up to a near 310 foot batted ball distance on his best swing.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a hop in the prep step, bouncing to his glove hand side while staying low in the posture. Funneled accurately inward allowing for solid pace and an immediate release from a ¾ slot across the diamond following a glove-tap (78 mph arm). Able to drop down lower on the run and liked to create range with clean routes in either direction.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the left side of the rubber with consistent tempo to the delivery. Got to a balanced stack position and separated on time allowing for a smooth/athletic move down the slope. Spun the FB well, landing it at 81-83 mph for strikes (good carry up to T21 inches IVB). Later mixed a well commanded 62-65 mph CB at an 11/5 tilt and a harder thrown 65-67 mph SL with occasional two-plane shape. A developing 73-75 mph CH was released with FB sell and showed good fade, spraying at times.
2/27/21
Physically: 5’11 160lb SS/RHP ran a 7.64 laser timed 60-yard dash. Young frame has room to add strength and size as he grows.
Offensively: Begins in a wide and pre loaded set up. Has some movement and rhythm in his hands, allowing the barrel to get a running start into the hitting zone. Displays some bat speed and a swing that covers a pretty consistent plane.
Defensively: Shows active feet that allow him to begin propelling his momentum towards his target. Hands work together to catch and funnel to the center of his body. Showed a quick first step and athleticism moving in all directions.
Pitching: Simple and smooth mechanics. Has an easy working arm. Seems to get the most out of his body as he sinks and drives off of his backside. FB has some life and he mixes in a CV and CH.
