2/15/14 Pacheco is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound unsigned senior that showed athleticism at multiple positions. He demonstrated the ability to make all plays with good feet and a fluid transfer from the middle infield. His 81 mph arm should be strong enough to allow him to stay on the left side of the infield at the next level. Pacheco ran a 4.35 home-to-1B and showed a line drive approach at the plate. The right-handed hitter barreled the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Pacheco also showed fluid actions in the outfield with a strong 87 mph arm to home plate.
Pacheco completed a well-rounded weekend showcasing his skills at three positions by tossing a solid bullpen session. The unsigned senior sat 80-83 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with more in the tank. Although he treats pitching as his third position, the righty showed athleticism and balance to his delivery that project additional velocity if he was to concentrate on being a pitcher only. Pacheco also commanded a slurvy, 11/5 breaking curveball at 65 mph and a 70 mph changeup that had some sink.
1/20/14 Pacheco had the top all-around performance of the day. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound two-way prospect showcased the top outfield arm (87 mph) and infield arm (84 mph) at the event. Pacheco displayed a soft glove hand, good range and the ability to play the baseball on the move from his middle infield position. The right-handed hitter showed quick hands out of a slightly open stance and barreled the baseball routinely. With additional work on the lower half of his swing he should see an improvement in his 75 mph bat exit velocity. Pacheco completed his day by sitting 81-83 from a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. He also flashed a 67 mph curveball with tight rotation and a 72 mph changeup with some arm side run and late sink.
