2016 PBR Future Games - Team Pennsylvania

8/4/16 5-foot-11, 160-pound primary pitcher worked three scoreless innings over two games. Allowed one hit, walked two and struck out three while inducing two double plays. Flashed a quick arm with some cut to his fastball that sat 83-84. 72 mph curveball showed 10/4 rotation with short, late break. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash, flashed 82 mph arm strength from the outfield and an 85 mph bat exit velocity.

7/20/16 Athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pounder with loose, clean arm action. Gathers over rubber well, while upright finish, at times, led to inconsistencies in release point and command on this day. Stuff was down a tick from when we last saw him. Fastball sat 81-83 with occasional late, hard armside action. Curveball at 65-67 flashed late slurvy action, but was inconsistent, while change-up checked in at 68-70. Still expect athleticism and arm action to lead to a velocity jump at some point.

11/7/15 Athletic, 5-foot-11, 160-pounder with loose, clean arm action and solid three-pitch mix. Worked from the far first base side of the rubber out of a high three-quarter slot and landed slightly closed. Fastball with occasional armside run sat 83-mph and peaked at 84. Sold his change-up with fastball armspeed well, as the pitch clocked in at 73-75 with fade. Also showed a feel for throwing his solid curveball at 67-70 for a strike. Despite his stature, athleticism (ran a 6.88 60-yard dash) and arm action hint at more to come.

11/7/15 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitter who ran a 6.88 60-yard dash and posted an 82-mph exit velocity. Primary pitcher (who showed well on the mound) hits from a slightly open stance, incorporating a heel-raise stride. Arm bar in load creates some stiffness in swing, although he showed an ability to barrel the baseball during his BP round. Defensively, he exhibited athletic actions and a long, loose arm action that generated 81-mph arm strength.
6/24/15 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame. Pitched out of a high three-quarter slot with long, clean arm action. Repeated his delivery well in the wind-up; was less consistent in the stretch. Fastball sat 81-82, with the arm action projecting for more velocity, especially as he adds strength to his frame. Good feel for spinning his curveball at 69-71 with 11/5 action. Maintained arm speed on change-up at 72-73 with some horizontal, 1-plane fade.
6/24/15 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter. Hit from slightly open stance, employing short quick toe-tap. Body came forward with stride, while he stayed on top of the ball well and kept the barrel in the hitting zone. Struggled on day one, but posted three hits, including multiple quality swings against low-80s arms, on day two. Ran a 7.22 60-yard dash and multiple 4.59 in-game home-to-1B times. Showcased 85-mph exit velocity and 78-mph arm strength during workout (ran FB up to 82 in game). Long, loose arm action with accurate throwing arm defensively.
6/25/14 Balogh sat 78-80 with some cut action out of a high 3/4 arm slot. The righty has a loose arm and velocity gains are likely as his 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame fills out. Balogh also displayed an 11/5 breaking curveball at 65 mph thrown at fastball arm speed. He worked three effective innings in game play yielding just one hit.
