7/1/15 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed pitcher sat 82-84 from a high 3/4 arm slot with some arm side run to his fastball. Solid balance throughout delivery and repeatable mechanics indicate additional velocity gains are likely. Meals also displayed command of a 73 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 75 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed with some late sink.

11/1/14 Meals impressed sitting 80-83 working solely from the stretch with arm-side run to his fastball. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound righty appears to be far from physical maturity and controls his delivery well. Meals also displayed a 71 mph slider that he frequently gets underneath. When on top of the pitch it showed solid biting action. Meals' changeup sat 68-70 and was thrown at near fastball arm speed. Meals hits from a square stance and gets his hands to a good launch position. His swing has some length, but, if he would consistently incorporate his backside, he has a chance to drive the baseball. Meals showcased solid feet and hands defensively.
