Physical: Stocky, compact 5-foot-10, 220lb frame with high-level two-sport athleticism and feel for his body. 7.11 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Started from a wide, even stance with a loose backside elbow that works with rhythm into the rib cage; utilized a leg lift stride before driving the hands through a flat, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone that created lift after impact. Very consistent round of batting practice working up to a T87 mph bat-exit velocity (83 mph average via Trackman), with a short, easy-triggered launch from the shoulder. Added a 326 foot batted ball distance at his peak (lofty approach, 33% line drive rate) pointing towards the ability to hit for AVG and PWR as he matures.
Defensively: The primary outfielder featured attacking, downhill actions with choppy footwork at the fielding window. Soft glove hand stayed down working down/up with a clean exchange at the midsection. Used an accurate high ¾ slot with a medium takeaway assisting a 77 mph arm show on time to the target (corner OF projection moving forward).
7/30/20
Physical: Solid / athletic 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame with advanced quickness and strength present throughout his game. 6.96 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Open, slightly bent stance with weight anchored into a strong backside as the hands started above the shoulder. Utilized an easy lift and replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone with lift after contact. Demonstrated power in the lower half with sink after footstrike creating natural backspin on the baseball at impact, connected to the ground well throughout the swing allowing for a peak bat-exit velocity of 92 mph per Trackman Baseball. High level hitter for his age / consistently found the barrel regardless of quadrant pitched into. Found great success when attacking the ball out at the front of the plate, short hands worked effortlessly to contact point and long through it, has a chance to be a quality bat in the middle of the order at the high school level. Generated barrels during game action while displaying above average feel on the basepaths to create pressure on the defense. Defensively: The primary outfielder featured athletic movements while approaching the ball with downhill momentum at the fielding window, soft glove hand with solid catch and throw skills out of a high ¾ slot with a medium arm circle. Was able to track balls down in the gaps and stay behind balls hit in the air, advanced feel in space and showed CF like tendencies. OF - 82 mph Pitching: RHP - Starts from the middle of the rubber with a short side rocker step, medium leg lift with hip coil around the backside, gets directional while landing into a bent front side upon footstrike, gets slight downhill plane on a 74-76 mph FB with an upwards of 1847 spin per Trackman Baseball. Mixed a quality 64-66 mph breaker with 11/5 shape and short, late break creating occasional swings and misses at the plate.
