Catchmark is a 6-foot, 185-pound RHP/3B from Governor Mifflin HS.
6/12/13 Catchmark had an impressive event in all facets of the game. The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect showed fluid actions at third base and an 82 mph arm across the diamond. Hitting out of a square stance, Catchmark used a fluid swing with good extension to consistently drive the baseball with some pop. He went on to go 4-for-6 in game play. Catchmark sat 80-83 from an over the top arm slot. He showed the makings of a quality 11/5 breaking curveball at 64 mph and a change up thrown at near fastball arm speed at 75 mph. Based on his performance in game play and the potential he showed in pregame evaluations, Catchmark was named MVP of the Red Team.
1/26/13 Catchmark was impressive in all facets of the game. He showed a strong arm with good carry across the infield at 77 mph. He also displayed athletic actions and soft hands with good range. Catchmark had a very solid 85 mph bat exit velocity that he put to good used during one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. He showcased a short stroke and good lower half actions that allowed for consistent squaring of the baseball to all fields. On the mound, the right-hander commanded three pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot. His fastball sat 80-82 with arm side run. Catchmark shows his numerals to the hitter that adds to the amount of movement he gets on his fastball as well as his 70 mph changeup. Catchmark also showcased a 64 mph slider that has tight rotation. In time and with better arm speed, the slider could become a good out pitch for the 6-foot, 185-pound sophomore.
