Notes

Comments

6/15/21

Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot-1, 188lb frame with likeable qualities in his game. 7.17 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with a slight bend into the backside knee as the hands operated flat to start at medium height; utilized a quick leg lift stride, initiating a twitchy barrel through a flat path into the hitting zone. Stayed behind the ball well producing natural connection in the swing as well as extra-base hits to the LCF gap behind hard, consistent contact at the plate. Notched a T92 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman, good enough for a 50% hard hit rate. Top of the order characteristics with bat to ball skills to match, worked up to a 314 foot peak distance.

Defensively: The primary outfielder featured early reads off the bat, getting around and downhill through the baseball using positive/good angles to create leverage to the target. A soft glove hand led the way funneling smoothly inward and released from a H ¾ slot with a moderate takeaway (86 mph arm, carry, accurate on the plate).

2/13/21

Physical: 6-foot-1, 188LBS. Strong, athletic build. 7.5SEC 60-Yard Dash.

Offensively: RHH. Begins with feet slightly wider than shoulder width. Hands begin next to ear and work straight back during the load. Barrel works into a strong position and promotes early connection. Lower half utilizes a simple up and down stride for timing. Has some physicality in the swing. With some polishing of the movements exit velocities will continue to rise.

Defensively: At 3B begins with a wide base and uses a hop as a prep step. Fields ball out in front and funnels ball to belt line. Works towards 1B in a straight line up through release of the baseball. Works through the backhand. Shows efficient actions that will improve as overall athleticism improves.

2/29/20

Showcased an advanced 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with some strength in his actions and length in his movements. The right-handed hitter begins with a bent, even stance utilizing a leg-lift to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone with some length. Generated barrel whip through contact yielding a pull-side approach during batting practice. Demonstrated feel for his hands and hit into a repeatable, stiff front side recording a 76 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran an 8.06 60-yard dash. The primary third baseman featured repeatable, adequate footwork arriving to the ball on time with a moderately low center of gravity with soft hands in front. Displayed the ability to make plays to his forehand side with regularity and throw from different arm angles on the run. Registered an accurate 73 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate takeaway.

1/12/19

Defensively, Hands are adequate. there is commitment to working bottom up and out front. Transfer is clean and feet work well in creating angle and hops.

Offensively, swing is initiated from neutral set up with knee to knee leg kick and stride while staying neutral. Solid separation is present. There is balance and rhythm to swing. Bat is swung with intent with good barrel feel and hands working directly to the baseball. Koshan consistently gets bat on plane early and maintains plane late. A bat exit velocity of 73 mph was recorded. Overall, there are the early makings of an above average offensive player.

On the mound, Koshan works out of high 3/4 arm slot showing solid balance and ability to repeat delivery. FB at 64-67 was commanded well displaying little movement. CB at 58-61 mph had 11-5 shape and rolling action. CH was thrown with good sell but inconsistent command at best demonstrating subtle arm side fade.
