7/21/15 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter. Started from slightly open stance and strode to square. Rocks weight to backside and creates armbar in load, while consistently barreling the baseball in a pull-oriented swing in BP. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash and 4.60 in-game home-to-1B time. Showcased 83-mph exit velocity and 73-mph arm strength from the crouch during workout. Posted workout pop times of 2.14-2.22. Solid feel for blocking with accurate throwing arm.
6/17/15 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter. Starts slightly open, rocks weight to backside and rolls front knee during load/separation. Contact guy who doesn’t swing and miss much and has shown the ability to stay on top of elevated pitches. Defensively, good direction with feet and clean exchange when throwing led to workout pop times of 2.11-2.22. Aggressive blocker with improving glovehand when receiving.
5/4/15 Displayed sound receiving and blocking skills with a 2.14 in game pop time. Square stance, simple approach at plate with flat path through zone. Barreled baseball in each of four at bats including a home run to left field and a sharp single to left as well.
2/15/15 While he lacks premium arm strength at the present time, Kroeger exhibits fundamentally sound catch-and-throw mechanics, and has a soft wall when blocking. At the plate, he hits from a square stance, takes a short stride, and gets his hands to a good launch position. He has a contact-oriented, middle/oppo approach. His front hip has a tendency to lead the swing and pull off early, which causes some barrel lag and him working under the ball at times.
9/28/14 Kroeger is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound junior that showcased the ability to play multiple positions. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance with a high hands load. Kroeger squared the baseball routinely in batting practice with a line drive approach and a flat barrel path. The right-handed hitter registered an 80 mph bat exit velocity and went 1-for-3 with two runs scored in Game Two action. Kroeger showcased pop times of 2.16-2.19 on throws of 69 mph from the crouch and ran a 7.31 60-yard dash.
2/16/14 Kroeger registered a 4.35 home-to-1B time and flashed pop times of 2.16-2.31 on throws of 75 mph from the crouch. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound sophomore showcased a high hands load out of a square stance with the ability to barrel the baseball frequently from the right side of the plate. Kroeger displayed a flat bat path that was at times a bit long and a bat exit velocity of 83 mph.
1/13/13 Kroeger ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and showed development in his throwing techniques behind the plate. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect has projectable size and receives the ball well. He showed pop times of 2.35-2.45 on throws of 69 mph out of the crouch. Kroeger had a solid round of batting practice using a 79 mph bat exit velocity to create barrel whip and some pop. He squared the baseball routinely and showed some gap to gap power.
12/28/12 Kroeger displayed solid receiving and blocking skills, but was most impressive at the plate. He showed pop times of 2.38-2.45 on throws of 66 mph from the crouch. The right handed hitter has a short swing path that produced consistent line drives. Kroeger displayed power potential that will be increased as he develops more extension in his swing. He used a 75 mph bat exit speed during one of the most solid rounds of batting practice on the day.
