Notes

Comments

6/13/21

Physical: Strong, projectable, and athletic 6-foot-2, 190lb frame with two way abilities. 7.51 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, loose setup with the feet at shoulder-width with a slight bend in the knees and the hands operating traditionally above the shoulder; utilized a short, directional lift and replace stride towards the pitcher, launching through a flat, consistent path into the hitting zone. Good feel for extension at the front of the plate while hitting into a stiff front side. Found success through the middle/LCF side of the field and worked his way up to a T89 mph bat-exit velocity with natural loft in the approach (57% fly ball rate via Trackman Baseball). A 76% on-plane efficiency points to quality bat to ball skills and translated to consistent AB’s in game.

Defensively: The first baseman showed adequate footwork, arriving on time with length in the approach; accurate glove hand funneling in at the chest softly with feel for the pocket. Directional footwork and slightly downhill chest aiding pace and giving way to an accurate high ¾ slot across the diamond (76 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle/left side of the rubber using average to above-average pace as the hands moved upwards at the leg lift, drove down with quick rotation through footstrike allowing the arm to play downhill at times from 79-81 mph (63% zone rate, strikes). Mixed a short 70-72 mph CB flashing 11/5 tilt and up to 5 inches of HM. A 70-72 mph SL was thrown with more confidence as the out pitch, sweeping away from RHH. Later added 71-73 mph CH with some fade to the arm-side and killed spin (50% strike rate).

2/13/21

Physical: 6-foot-2, 190LBS. Has some projectability in the frame. 7.79SEC 60-Yard Dash.

Offensively: RHH. Balanced set up with the heal of the left foot off the ground. Feet are slightly wider than shoulder width. Bat rests slightly above the shoulder and goes up and back during the load. Simple up and down stride as the timing mechanism. Looks to drive the ball out front. Slightly down hill barrel path. High, one handed finish with a straight left arm.

Defensively: Athletic around the 1B bag and puts himself in positions to make plays. Light on his feet and showed the ability to set the feet and throw. Fields ball out in front and is fundamentally sound.

Pitching: Sets up on the 1B side of the rubber with hands at chest height. As he goes through the rocker step and leg lift to chest height, the hands rise. On glove break the arm goes into a long and full arm circle. Stays tall as he moves down the mound. Releases from a 3/4 arm slot. Has some feel for the CH and showed he can throw for strikes.

6/15/20

Physical: 6-foot-2, 185 pounds; long, projectable frame.
Pitching: Sets up in the middle of the rubber, side steps into delivery with a high left lift, finishes towards the plate. Moderate take back with a high 3/4 arm slot. FB: T 80MPH, 74-80 MPH. Shows some arm side life. CB: 66-69 MPH. 12-6 shape. CH: 70-72 MPH. Fading action when down in the zone.

2/29/20

Showcased a physical 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with feel for his body. The primary right-handed pitcher sat 74-77 mph out of a repeatable, high ¾ arm-slot. Mixed in a 62-64 mph curveball with small 11/5 shape and countered with a 67-69 mph changeup featuring small arm-side run while being thrown with solid arm-speed. The right-handed hitter begins with a wide, even stance utilizing a leg-lift to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Demonstrated a short, repeatable stroke while hitting into a tall and stiff front side during batting practice. Recorded an 80 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 7.81 60-yard dash. The first baseman showed off adequate feel around the bag while arriving to the ball on time with regularity. Registered an accurate 70 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a high ¾ arm-slot.

1/14/18

Defensively, at 1B hands are adequate as is footwork around the bag. Benefit would be gained from greater commitment to working bottom up and out front.

Offensively, swing is initiated from neutral set up with stride staying neutral. Solid separation is achieved. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. There is balance and rhythm to swing with hands working short and direct to baseball. Stadler get bat on plane early and maintains late in hitting zone. The early makings of an above average offensive player are demonstrated.

On the mound, Stadler works out of high 3/4 arm slot showing ability to repeat delivery. FB sat 67-69 and was cut to both arm and glove sides. CB at 55-58 mph was inconsistent but at best displayed 11-5 shape with late, sharp break. Ch at 58-61 was commanded with subtle arm side fade. There was slight slowing of arm.
