A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Durable, filled-out 6-foot, 190lb frame with strength available.
Pitching: RHP. Slower pace off the middle of the rubber. The upper-half uses a full range-of-motion to unwind into footstrike out of a H ¾ slot with an intentful finish. Efficient lead-leg block transfers energy in a straight line on the FB at 83-87, T89 mph (2265). Some more life in his second inning, adding a 64-68 mph SL and quality mid-70’s CH with killed spin (1217).
6/15/21
Physical: Strong, durable 6-foot, 180lb frame with even proportions and athleticism held in the actions. 7.41 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Upright, slightly open stance with the barrel starting loosely at the head. Utilized a leg lift and barrel tip at the top of the load to initiate the hands through a slightly uphill path with tilt on the exit creating loft to the pull-side gap. Hit into a stiff front side with good weight shift allowing for natural connection at the plate (T88 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball). Found success in game action getting the bat head out in advantage counts, driving the ball to RF for base knocks. Added a near 320 foot batted ball distance on his best swing during batting practice to CF.
Defensively: The third baseman moved smoothly to his left, keeping momentum with a low posture towards the target while gathering using a clean exchange at the belt. Short, high ¾ release with ability to show some pace during defensive evals (80 mph arm, accurate). Handled plays on the run and could change arm angles if need be.
Pitching: RHP - Started from the middle of the rubber with a medium side-rocker and gradual leg lift to the top of the stack; moved down the mound showing adequate pace with separation at footstrike. Released from a H ¾ slot, pounding the zone with the FB at 80-83 mph (10+ inches of arm-side run, 59% zone rate via Trackman). Mixed a horizontal 69-71 mph SL with up to T7+ inches of bite across the plate, later countering with a 70-73 mph, 1539rpms CH up to around 13 inches of fade at times.
