Physical: Athletic, even-proportioned frame with natural feel for all facets of the game; solid prospect overall posting a 7.01 time in the 60-yard dash.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured obvious control of the game behind the dish, alternating between traditional and one-knee down when receiving. Soft, easy glove work at the catch point with good pocket awareness and replaced the feet well on catch/throw with a clean exchange at the ear. Accurate/quick ¾ slot and 77 mph arm strength on the bag with consistency (2.08-2.12 pops) while beating the ball to the spot with down chest angles when blocking. Room to continue holding additional strength as he matures.
2/27/21
Physical: 5’8 160lb C/ MIF ran a 6.78 laser timed 60-yard dash. Room to grow and continue development. Already a solid foundation to work off of.
Offensively: Starts from a wide stance with hands up tight to the body. Simple movements from the upper and lower half allow him to consistently to the barrel to the ball. A small coil of the upper body creates his timing mechanism.
Defensively: Receives with the ‘new school’ 1 knee down/kickstand set up. Seems to have soft hands when receiving. He threw the ball well from behind the plate, registering a 1.98-2.03 pop time in a showcase setting. 81 mph throwing velocity out of the crouch.
