Physical: Muscular, projectable 6-foot-1, 165lb frame. 7.15 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Coiled, even stance with the hands operated from a strong position to hit at the ear. Utilized a simple lift and replace stride that produced short-to-long contact through a flat path into the hitting zone. Carried success over to game action with multiple hits, peppering the pull-side of the field with ability to slot the barrel. Posted a T88 mph exit velo during BP (78% sweet spot).
Defensively: There’s plenty to like in the dirt, squaring up on the receive with a soft glove hand. Pop times ranged between 1.99-2.09 using rhythmic transfers and a sequenced throw at 79 mph. One to know.
Physical: 6-foot-1, 160 pounds; Athletic, proportional build. 7.08 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Lifts hands with a toe-tap for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a high finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft with a clean transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. 2.07-2.19 pop times. C - 79 MPH.
Physical: Athletic, lengthy 6-foot, 150lb frame with room to continue adding to the build as he matures. 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, slightly open stance with a shoulder-width attack; utilized a toe tap stride in order to initiate the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Generated consistent barrels at the front of the plate with natural lift in the swing to the LCF part of the field; posted a 43% fly ball rate via Trackman and showed ability to match pitch-plane early in ball flight. Stayed inside the ball and got extended with consistency, leading to a T85 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice. A solid floor for someone who will add significant weight/strength in the coming years.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a low/wide traditional setup in the crouch; showed off adequate receiving skills with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.10-2.20 using the turf from high ¾ with fluidity through release. Absorbed the ball in catch/throw phase to the ear, using a longer slot that can be shortened up, though the arm played well (76 mph, above-average). Has all the traits you look for in a backstop with a good chance to continue positively developing.
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 145-pound frame with length in the movements. 7.83 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Open, balanced setup with the hands flat above the shoulder. Utilized a toe tap stride in order to initiate the hands through a flat barrel path while hitting into a stiff front side. Worked the middle of the field primarily with line drive contact (46% line drive rate) showing increased feel for the barrel. Both an 84 mph bat-exit velocity and 77 mph average pointed to consistency offensively and ability for more as he adds strength.
Defensively: Adequate receiving skills from the backstop with minimal glove hand movement at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.20-2.31 with good feel for the catch and throw phase. Brought the hips up on occasion pre-catch allowing for momentum and a 73 mph arm strength from the crouch. Moved well laterally on blocks while beating the ball to the spot with the glove hand first … The third baseman moved with a medium center of gravity on the approach while letting the glove hand play loosely out in front. Average momentum through the baseball while standing up after fielding on occasion. Strong arm across the diamond (79 mph) with room for more down the line. Feel for the play on the run as well.
