Comments

2/16/19

5-foot-11, 165-pound righty sat 86-88 from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm motion. Fastball is heavy with significant arm-side run. Curveball showed tight 11/5 rotation at 73-76. Changeup is a quality third pitch thrown with good sell at 75-79. Loses pitches to his arm-side on occasion due to front should leak. Definite follow in this class. Should see considerable innings for his high school team this spring.

1/28/18

5-foot-10, 160-pound primary pitcher sat 83-85 from a balanced, repeatable deliver with a long arm motion. Fastball shows considerable arm side run and occasional sink. Curveball displays cutter action at 73-74 and changeup is thrown at near-fastball arm speed with sink at 74-76. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride and an aggressive hip turn. Displayed a solid feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. Showcased 87 mph arm strength from his outfield position while routinely playing through the baseball.

2/12/17

5-foot-8, 140-pounder with some hook in arm action into a three-quarter slot. Gets good extension down the mound and has some hand speed out front. Fastball sat 79-81 with the occasional bit of tailing action, slider flashed solid three-quarter break, and change-up checked in a 74-76.

The primary pitcher starts from a slightly open stance with weight unbalanced to the back side and chin resting on front shoulder. Would benefit from additional strength in order to help shorten his path and develop ability to drive the baseball beyond his current 75 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Defensively, he moves well to and through the baseball, while he posted 84 mph arm strength from a low three-quarter slot.
