10/01/19

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, strong, athletic frame. Offensively, looks to elevate the ball and drive it with significant force, hunts fastballs middle/in, gets the barrel head out and extension through the zone with quick hands and strong wrists/forearms. Started the first night of the Adidas Three Stripe Classic with a bang, launching a home run 368 feet, 97 mph off the bat, followed that up by nearly hitting his second home run of the night in a later at-bat. A power bat that will make any coach happy at the next level.

10/13/18 - Home-1st: 4.62, Position Velocity:  OF-80, IF-80, Exit Velocity: 91

6-foot-1, 185-pound, RHH continues to just hit, picking up a double in game.  Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength throughout, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ hand rhythm into shift of weight, leg kick and short hand load.  Generates above average bat speed through the zone.  Projects to hit for a lot of average w/ simple, repeatable swing and knack for barrel.  Occasionally lands open, which takes his hips with him.  All fields approach w/ lot of line drives when right.  Projectable power to all fields as frame matures.  Defensively, worked out on the dirt and in the OF.  In the OF, moves well w/ ability to cover ground w/ projectable carry to target arm strength.  On the dirt, shows solid footwork w/ carry to target arm strength and reliable glove.

8/5/18 - 60: 7.18, Position Velocity: OF: 82, Exit Velocity: 92

OF continued to show off his advanced hit tool, collecting a couple hits in game.  6-1, 185-pounder features a medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength throughout, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ short hand rhythm into leg kick to square and proper load.  Leg kick is a new addition since we saw him last.  Showed ability to control his lower half and stay through the baseball.  Knack for barrel, consistent hard contact.  All fields approach w/ lot of line drives when right.  Put on a show in BP on day 2, delivering consistent hard contact and numerous home runs to his pull side.  Learning to consistently get to his power in game, projectable all fields power.  Defensively, shows ability to cover ground in the OF w/ good bat reads.  Developing arm strength w/ carry to target.

6/12/18 - Home-1st: 4.60, Position Velocity:  IF-77, OF-77, Exit Velocity: 94
6-foot-1, 180-pound, RHH showed off an advanced bat, collecting 3 hits and making a number of nice in game plays in LF.  Medium, athletic profile w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ very short hand rhythm into leg kick to square and proper load.  Generates premium bat speed through the zone.  Quiet, repeatable swing w/ still head.  Explodes on the baseball.  All fields approach, line drives all over the field when right.  Aggressive approach, wants to swing the bat, shows ability to hit nearly everything, including hitting a double to right center field on a 89 mile per FB even with his head.  Projectable power to all fields.  Projectable slightly above average runner.  Defensively, moves well in the OF w/ ability to cover ground, made a couple in game plays in the OF, tracking the baseball well.  Arm was tired leading in to today, typically shows better arm strength than what we saw.  Also worked out at SS, showed solid hands w/ arm slot playing better on the dirt than we have seen previously.  Super athletic ability to play anywhere, but projects best in CF for us.

11/18/17 - 30 Time: 4.03, Position Velocity:  OF-83, IF-82, Exit Velocity: 92
6-foot-1, 175-pound, RHH showed a better exit velocity w/ better OF velocity when compared to Border Battle last month.  Increased OF velocity by 5 ticks and exit velocity by 6 ticks.  Shows a similar offensive profile, projection to hit for average and power, still learning to repeat the same swing every swing.  Defensively, incorporated his legs better into his OF throws, still learning to do that while maintaining a quality release time.

10/22/17 - Home-1st: 4.41, Position Velocity:  IF-82, OF-78, Exit Velocity: 86
6-foot-1, 175-pound, RHH shows positional versatility w/ the chance for 5 tools.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, physical projection.  Offensively, hits from a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location.  Bat waggler.  Shift of weight, knee to knee leg kick w/ deep load.  Load stays tighter in BP than in game.  Adjusts size of leg kick depending on what he is looking to do.  Generates bat speed through the zone, barrel stays in zone for long time.  Projects to hit for average w/ pull power as body matures.  Has a 2-strike approach.  Average runner now projects above average w/ aggressiveness on the bases.  Defensively, took reps in the OF and at SS.  Projects as a CF w/ above average speed, good routes, projectable average arm strength.  On the dirt, shows athleticism w/ average arm strength, plays through the ball well.  Developing hands and feet.  Intriguing player w/ potential for 5 tools as frame matures.  Definite follow into the spring.

9/17/17 - 6-1, 165-pound OF shows the potential for 5 tools.  The righty hitter hits from an open, upright stance w/ his hands even with the top of his helmet.  Short bat waggle.  Stride to slightly open w/ proper hand load.  Shows above avg bat speed.  Will unlock power ceiling when begins to hit the ball out front.  DNS enough for a defensive eval.  Very intriguing young hitter just scratching the surface.

12/10/16 - 60 Time: 7.01, Position Velocity:  OF-78, IF-70, Exit Velocity: 85
6-foot-1, 165-pound, RHH hits from a balanced but tall and slightly closed stance with his barrel resting just above his shoulder, uses a toe-tap and short stride with a push back of his hands to get loaded, lower half gets through but stays tall and doesn’t create as much torque and separation as its capable of, bat path is pretty flat through the zone, came around the ball at times and hit a lot of ground balls and low line drives to the left side.  Defensively, showed average hands and footwork in the outfield, played through the ball, higher exchange leads to a shorter but slinging arm action through a high ¾ slot, showed versatility by participating in the infield as well.
