07.22.17 - 5-foot-11, 180-pound, muscular, athletic frame. On the mound, the right-hander has an aggressive demeanor, working from a high-¾ slot, up-tempo delivery with some effort and hides the ball well. His fastball was mostly 84-86 mph but he did flash an 87 and 88 during warm ups on the scoreboard radar gun. He throws his slider aggressively, flashing late, sharp 11-5 depth at 75-76 mph.
Rohmer is an all-around athletic two-way player that shows great promise. Athletic, muscular frame at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds. Plays with confidence both in the field and at the plate. The junior began the day by running a 6.93-second 60-yard dash. A right-handed hitter, Rohmer starts from an open, pigeon-toed stance, rocks back smooth and slow to load, big leg kick with a medium stride. Explosive lower half transfer as he rotates to contact with a short path, using a strong upper body to deliver the barrel as he extends through contact with a high finish. Aggressive swings during batting practice and game play, barrel is in the zone a long time with gap power (89 mph) and more to come. At shortstop, Rohmer has athletic actions, fluid footwork, quick first step and the ability to change directions. Showed good range and made several plays with high-end athleticism. Soft hands, longer exchange at times into a ¾ slot, threw 81 mph across the infield.
06.13.17 - 5-foot-11, 180-pound, athletic frame. Rohmer is an all-around athlete, he plays through the ball in both the outfield and infield and has a good feel for both positions. At shortstop he has outstanding range to both his backhand and glove sides and can throw on the run. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts from a tall, open stance, smooth load with a leg kick, into an aggressive swing with a short path. Line drive approach with fast hands and good barrel awareness. Rohmer has projectable power with an exit velocity of 89 mph off the tee.
10.2.16
5-foot-11, 160-pound frame. Athletic build with well defined lower half and strength in the hands. The right-handed hitter has a solid set-up at the plate with quiet rhythm and a high leg-kick with balance as he waits for the ball to cross into the hitting zone. Engages the lower half in his swing with good weight transfer. Showed high level bat speed and strength finishing the barrel through contact on both fastballs and sliders. Has the ability to keep his hands back and hit off-speed pitches with leverage. On a triple in the left-center gap he was a 4.65 on the turn showing good acceleration between first and second. He also had a well-struck deep fly ball to left field and a base hit on a slider. Aggressive base-runner stealing three bags on the day. Defensively he showed good range at shortstop.
