A developing 5-foot-8, 150-pound frame. Works from  an athletic delivery with rhythm. Uses two arm slots, a side-arm slot and a high-3/4 slot, shows an advanced feel, able to repeat and command from both. Fastball sits 77-79 mph and touches 80 from the higher slot, 74-77 from the side with sink. Slider, only from the low slot, shows 10/4 shape and sweeping action, backs up occasionally. Curveball, from the high slot, shows consistent rolling action and depth. Both pitches 62-63 mph. Throws the changeup from both slots, some sink from below, 60-61 mph. In the game, threw strikes and challenged hitters. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a very wide and open stance with some rhythm in his hands. Uses short stride and shows some quickness in his hands while staying short to the ball. Shows a middle of the field, flat approach with barrel control in BP, 79 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.59 60. Defensively, shows deliberate and clean actions with good hands, throws from multiple slots, 73 mph, some accuracy. In the game, went 1-for-2 with a single and a ground out the the shortstop.


8-20-17 
A 5-foot-8, 150-pound lean frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a front foot heavy and open set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load, short stride, short hand path to the ball, flat through extension. In BP, shows a flat middle of the field approach with the ability to pull and go the other way when necessary,  quick hands, consistent barrels, 80 mph exit velo. Runs a 4.65 home-to-first. Defensively, shows confident and all around advanced actions, throws from multiple slots, 76 mph with accuracy.  In the game, went 0-for-3 with a stolen base.
 On the mound, works from an athletic, fluid, and slightly up tempo delivery. Arm action is full, clean, and quick in the back, coming through a high-3/4 slot and a straight sidearm slot. Fastball keeps its plane form the high slot, 78-79 and will touch 80 mph. From the low slot the fastball shows consistent run and some sink 73-76 mph. Slider is thrown from the low slot, 10/4 sweeping shape, 62-63 mph, spins out at times. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with some late depth, 63-64 mph. Also mixes in a changeup that he did not show live in this outing, 60-61 mph with fade from the low slot. In the game, showed above average command from both slots, keeping hitter off balance the whole time, very quick inning.

A 5-foot-8, 150-pound lean frame. On the mound, works from an abbreviated wind up with above average tempo and rhythm. Throws multiple pitches from multiple slots with advanced feel for the strike zone from each. Fastball sits 77-79 from 3/4 slot and 75-76 from the side with heavy run and sink. Curveball from the higher slot has 12/6 shape, shows some late depth, and is thrown with full arm speed at 65-66 mph. Also mixes in a slider from the side with 10/4 shape. Changeup is thrown from both slots, but really shines with sink and fade from the side, 69-70 mph. Had a quick inning of work in the game, challenging hitters and drawing weak contact. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open and upright set-up with his barrel tipped towards the pitcher and rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load and short stride before launching his hands on an efficient and flat path with good extension. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach with occasional pull and lift, found mostly barrels. Exit velo of 80 mph. Runs a 7.57 60. Defensively, shows clean, confident, and athletic actions with well above average feet and hands. Throws from multiple slots with accuracy, 78 mph across the diamond. In the game, laced a double down the right field line.

2/4/18
A 5-foot-8, 155-pound frame. The right-handed hitter bats from a slightly wide, upright, and balanced set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses a simple load and moderate stride before launching his hands on a short path to the fall and flat through extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field, very flat approach, mostly barrels, 82 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.40 60. Defensively, shows clean footwork and hands with the ability to throw from multiple arm slots with excellent accuracy, 82 mph across the diamond.

A 5-foot-8, 155-pound frame.  Defensively, Escovedo was a definite standout at shortstop, showing excellent footwork and hands with the ability to throw from multiple arm slots with good accuracy. He took efficient angles to the ball and showed an effective baseball clock and a high I.Q.

A 5-foot-8, 155-pound proportional frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an uptempo delivery with rhythm that he repeats well. Throws multiple pitches from multiple slots with advanced feel for the strike zone from each. Fastball sits 80-81 from 3/4 slot and 78-79 from the side with heavy run and sink. Curveball from the higher slot has 12/6 shape, shows some late depth, and is thrown with full arm speed at 65-67 mph. Also mixes in a slider from the side with 10/4 shape. Changeup is thrown from both slots, but really shines with sink and fade from the side, 69-70 mph. In the game, got weak contact from four of the five batters he faced, striking out one.

In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach, almost all barrel,. 83 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.20 second 60. Defensively, shows clean and controlled actions with advanced hands and feet. Throws with a moderate arm stroke through multiple slots with accuracy at 82 mph across the diamond. In the game, went 1-for-3, hitting a breaking ball into left field for a single.
