Nalder earned Utah 5A Region 8 MVP and put up a massive stat line during the 2022 spring season, as he hit .522 6 47 w/11 2B’s and an OPS of 1.442! Compact and strong with the ability to impact the ball w/a short, direct, flat stroke, while keeping the barrel in the zone a long time. The bat is his carrying tool! The defense needs work as he needs to work under the ball better to receive. The arm is strong, and can put balls on the money, yet is a bit inconsistent in his accuracy. The arm plays in the OF and he does throw like a catcher, but the carry is good and he gets off strong accurate throws. The arm will play on the corners with RF especially. A gamer that gets after it, while working his tail off to prove his skeptics wrong. It baffles me why a top school hasn’t just seen the bat and wants the impact that is there to translate quickly to the college level.

Uncommitted and looking for a home, Nalder is an aggressive blue collar catcher that also can play the OF and posts 84 mph online accurate throws and has a quick release with accuracy behind the plate. A strong hitter with power and a straightaway to pull stroke, Nalder has emerging power and participated as a representative for the state in the national power showcase HR derby in Tampa. A 1st Team All-Region catcher, Nalder hit .397 as a sophomore as he dealt with an injury that kept him from everyday service until region play. Once he got his sea legs under him, he took off and was a performing staple in a strong sophomore class for the Beetdiggers. Colleges take notice of this kid, as he has 2 years of HS baseball to really make his mark and create a track record of success. The type of player that could be an impact D2 and top JC player at the next level. 

Another bat that you have to watch in games, to get a true sense of his worth. In the top ½ of all the Trackman metrics. With a EV of 94.3 and max distance of 342, Nalder does it with an unconventional pinky below the knob grip and does maintain his load and hits from his front side at times, but does have quality hand/eye coordination to recognize pitches and is a strong game player. He hits it hard and can also receive well and stick pitches, working underneath the ball, to steal K’s. The arm is accurate and on the money, though he needs to be quicker with his feet. Versatile and can play the OF corner and shows off a 85 mph arm with good ext. He will see time and get AB’s as a varsity player on Jordan’s state title contending team, as he is part of a high impact sophomore class.
