Ertter is 5-8 with an athletic frame that has room to add strength. Defensively, played third base in the game, showed first step quickness and smooth actions, soft quick hands, plays through the ball to a quick clean exchange, average arm strength. At the plate, hits from a slightly open balanced athletic stance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing. Swing works well in the middle of the field, line drive hitter with some power gap to gap and room to add a bit more as he adds more strength.

Preseason All-State II

Ertter is 5-8 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open athletic stance, leg kick stride on line, loads down and back to a bar. Hips rotate completely and maintains good balance. Keeps hands inside the ball, level line drive swing, exit velocity was 81. In the infield, active feet, rounds ball and fields with wider base. Fields with soft hands and works through the ball to a clean release, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, infield velocity was 82. On the mound, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short loose quick arm action, normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with a fall off finish. Fastball was 81-82, with some late bore to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and sharp 11/5 break at 66-67. Changeup was 70-71 with some arm speed.

Ertter is 5-8 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open upright balanced stance, short leg kick stride on line, loads back to a slight bar, hips rotate completely with some violence, has some balance during his swing. Quick to contact, quick bat, keeps hands inside ball, strong at contact point with extension through ball, slightly uphill line drive path, ball will carry in the gaps, showed good approach working gap to gap, exit velocity was 79. In the infield, quick clean feet, rounds ball and fields with a good wide base and above average hands. Plays through ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action, position velocity was 78. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot with short loose arm action that is quick and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are closed and slightly uphill, lands closed with a fall off finish. Athletic delivery. Fastball was 75-78, worked up in the zone, got a bit of late life when down. Curveball was 61-64 with sharp 12/6 break and some shape to it. Change-up was 64-66 with good armspeed and heavy fade to it.
