Duff is an athletic defender behind the plate with vocal leadership qualities. At the plate he sets up with an athletic square stance, small step to stride, and hands load to slight arm bar. Level path to contact and the barrel stays on through extension. Was out front a few times on offspeed pitches and showed some barrel control and adjustability to put the ball in play. Behind the plate Duff is an average receiver with above average arm strength and accuracy around the bag.

Duff is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and the lower half and plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, uphill line drive swing with some strength at contact, showed a pull approach with the ability to use the whole field, some power present to pull side with potential to grow into more power, exit velocity was 85. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, longer arm action, position velocity was 75 and pop times 2.02-2.16. Ran a 7.44 60 yard dash.

Interesting catching prospect. Showed some flexibility in the hips, glove worked well at the bottom of the zone, and displayed some hand strength while handling some arms that were up to 88 mph. Clean controlled exchange and throws from a high arm slot with a short arm action. Average arm strength and had a 2.1 in game pop. At the plate is more of a contact bat right now. Hands load to an arm bar and slight bat wrap. Level path through the zone. Had a sacrifice fly on the day.
