3.7.16:  Riddick is a big righty with an imposing frame and a strong lower half. He has adjusted his delivery over the winter. He throws from a high three-quarters slot with a drop and drive delivery. He has a long, loose, quick arm action that generates velocity with easy effort. His shoulders are level and slightly closed as he strides out to a square landing before falling off slightly as he finishes. Riddick’s fastball has a ton of downward plane and slight run or cut, depending on what side of the plate it is thrown to. He sat 85-87 and commanded his fastball well the entire outing. He showed his slider more in the second inning. It had late, very tight 10/4 break and ran 76-79.
11/9/2014:  Riddick stands an athletic 6-foot-4 and has a prototypical pitcher’s frame. He throws from a high three-quarters slot and has a quick, long arm action that generates easy velocity. He is smooth throughout his delivery and his shoulders are uphill and closed at power position, creating excellent downhill plane. Riddick’s fastball sat 86-87 and touched 88 on the day and had some late boring action in addition to the angle his height creates. He also mixed in a few cutters that were 84-85. Riddick’s primary offspeed offering was a slider that had very late 11/5 break to it that ran 73-76. He also flashed a change-up that he threw with full armspeed and came in at 80. Overall, his command of all of his pitches was outstanding.

Riddick is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound, First Baseman that hit from a tall stance.  Very compact load with little rhythm.  Stayed behind the ball well.  Small leg kick, balance in the swing, uphill at times, short stroke.  Has some raw power with a slight-pull approach.  Had an exit velocity of 84 mph.  In the field, Riddick moved well for his size.  Feet worked well around the bag and in his approach.  Had average hands and lateral movement.  Had a very strong arm with a positional velocity of 85 mph.

2/22/2015:  Riddick stands an athletic 6-foot-5. He throws from a high three-quarters slot with a slight drop and drive delivery. He has a long backside arm action with a bit of a wrap to it and a quick armstroke that generates velocity with some effort. He gets to a good, high balance point and strides out on line, landing square before falling off a bit after release. His shoulders are uphill at power position. Riddick’s fastball sat 84-86 with hard run to it. His slider had sharp 11/5 break with decent armspeed and ran 73-75. His change-up faded with decent armspeed, running 75-81. He had outstanding command of all three pitches.
