Just prior to announcing his commitment to St. John’s, Lausten continues to solidify himself as one of the top middle infield defenders in the state. He showed all the actions necessary to stick as a shortstop at the next level, particularly on the move, and his loose whippy arm topped out at an accurate 89 mph to the bag. Lausten’s also added a little strength to enhance his batted-ball profile. He sprayed line-drives around the field, topping an exit speed of 92.7 mph.

5-foot-10, 150-pound left-handed-hitting shortstop. Quick-twitch athlete with room to add muscle. Hit leadoff and locked down shortstop for Midwest Halos all weekend. One of the high-follow 2022 prospects in attendance this weekend and one of the top 2022 shortstops in the state, as he’s already shown our staff a couple times this summer. Easy bat speed, line-drive contact, all-fields approach. Above-average speed that busts out of the batter’s box quick. Savvy defender at a premium position. Uber athletic actions throughout, quick first step, soft hands that cradle the baseball. One of the strongest infield arms in the state. Continuously making a name for himself in a loaded 2022 class.
