Southpaw Ben Verges (Franklin, 2025) is a lean, lengthy 6-2, 200-pound LHP, tossed a five inning complete game shutout with eight strikeouts and two hits. Verges used a fastball-curveball mix to control the zone with a 71% strike rate. A two-seam fastball held 77-79 mph throughout the outing with some slight sinking action. The curveball played with slurve-like movement at 63-66 mph. A tall-and-fall delivery with a big knee kick works directionally in line with home. Verges comes at the hitter with a short, deceptive arm action and a 3/4 slot.
