3.25.18 - Kansas State signee. Ranked No. 25 in Wisconsin’s Class of 2018. 6-foot, 170-pound, athletic left-handed pitcher. Slot varies between low ¾ and side arm, long arm action, slight wrap on the back. Tall and fall delivery, works across body, strides towards first base, lands square, toe open at-times. Fastball, located armside with run (spin tilt 2:00-3:00 o’clock), 83-86, touched 88, spin rate 2000-2200. Breaking ball, sweeping action on a 2/8 plane, worked both sides of the plate with, up to 75.2 mph (2145 rpm), settled at 71-73 (2000-2145 rpm). Changeup, same slot and tilt (2:00-3:00 o’clock) as fastball, similar arm speed, similar armside run as well, 79-80.

7.27.17 - Kansas State commit. 6-foot, 168-pound, left-handed pitcher. Long arm action, slight wrapping action, low ¾-to-side arm slot, works on-line, lands square, finishes falling towards first third base, slide step from stretch. Fastball, heavy arm-side run, 81-84 mph, touched 85, 86, locates arm-side. Slider, sweeping action, commands, 71-73 mph. Commands both pitches at-will, heavy horizontal movement.

11/17/16 - Verbally committed to Kansas State.

Future Games 2016 - 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed pitcher, loose wiry frame. Pitches from a low ¾ slot, loose quick arm action, has arm speed to project and slot is deceptive, can be tough on left-handed hitters. Gets angle to his fastball and attacks hitters, pitching in to righties, slight arm side run, sits 81-83 mph, topped out at 85 mph. Breaking ball has frisbee action at 73-74, sweeps away from left-handed hitters.

3/13/16 - 6-foot, 168-pound left-handed pitcher, loose live frame, quick twitch some with athleticism. Delivery is up-tempo, tall and fall type, works slightly across body with open toe landing. Arm action is quick and loose, ¾ slot, projectable arm speed. Fastball showed running action to arm side, ability to control, occasionally gets underneath, sat 84-86 mph. Breaking ball has slurve type action, shows sweep on 2/8 plane, aggressive arm speed, showed control, 74-76 mph, upside pitch, potential wipe out type. Changeup shows sink, has feel, near fastball arm speed, 76-78 mph. High follow 2018.

Summer 2020: Deceptive three-quarter slot lefty Eric Torres (Kansas State) was down a couple of ticks with his fastball during my look, but still managed to run it up to the plate in the 86-89 mph range. At his best, Torres will pound the zone at 89-91 and misses both left and right-handed bats with a swing/miss fastball in the 2200-2300 rpm range. He complements his heater with a near average, low-spin 78-80 mph changeup (1450-1500 rpm) and a below average-to-fringe slider in the low-80s. In 16.1 IP this summer, Torres has struck out 23 to go along with a sterling 0.55 ERA.
