4/26/15 - 6-foot-2, 185-pound, right-handed pitcher with a lanky, athletic build. Indian commit, currently ranked no. 13 in the Wisconsin Class of 2015. On the mound works from a ¾ arm slot with a long, loose arm action. Good tempo with a tall and fall online delivery, spins off towards first base side trying to work down glove side. Slider has the makings of a plus swing and miss pitch when he locates it down and away to right-handed hitters. Got multiple K’s on slider. Looks to backdoor lefties with SL and occasionally leaves it over the plate. Slider sat 77-79 mph in the outing. Fastball flashed sink at 85-87 topping out at 88 mph with some effort.

6/19/14 - Projectable build, long lanky frame, broad shoulder, thin waist, 6-foot-2, 185-pound right handed pitcher. Tall and fall delivery, easy effort, works directionally on line with rhythm, athletic finish. Arm action is long and loose, quick arm, high ¾ slot. Fastball has slight run late in the zone, showed command, easy velocity at 85-88 mph. Slider has sweeping action, throws for strikes, 75-77 mph. Changeup has advanced action and feel, near plus pitch, deceptive arm speed, fading action, showed the ability to command, 76-79 mph. Stiever has a high level of projectability and shows feel for three pitches, high follow prospect in the class of 2015.
5.18.14 - 6-foot-2, 185-pound athletic, lanky, two way player with strong projection. On the mound he has a smooth, tall and fall delivery with solid direction, level shoulders and athletic finish. Arm works from a high ¾ slot, long and loose on the back side. Filled the zone up with his fastball, 83-87 mph with sink and run. Showed advanced feel for the changeup, throwing it for strikes with fastball arm speed, 71-73 mph with some back up action. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 71-73 mph for strikes. From the outfield he showed athletic movements to the ball, clean exchanges and strong arm. Arm works long and loose, 85-88 mph with strong accuracy and carry. Ran a 7.14 60. At the plate has a balanced stance with a short stride, maintains balance. Swing is short and level with gap-to-gap coverage of the zone, hitting the ball where it’s pitched with above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 86 mph off a tee. Steiver is one of the top 2015 prospects in the state and is a high follow.

6/26/13 - Tall and lanky two-way player with projectability on the mound. His tall-and-fall delivery works well with his frame – shows athletic rhythm and works with direction towards the plate, landing squared and finishing balanced. He throws with long ¾ arm action and has feel for all three pitches. Stiever’s fastball was thrown for strikes at 79-82 mph with occasional run and sink, topping at 83 mph. He had command for his big sweeping 11/5 curveball sitting 66-68 mph flashing some sharp break. His changeup showed slight cutting action ranging 67-71 mph. Offensively Stiever hits from a wide setup using minimal load and short stride. He maintains balance throughout the swing – recorded a 79 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively he throws across the infield with long arm action at 78 mph.

6/5/18 - Selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 5th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

2/22/18 - 6’1/205, Junior. A super competitive and athletic starter who shows a good feel for a three pitch mix. Loose and clean arm action. Lands on-line and has good downplane, especially for his height. Fastball ranges from 89-94 mph, comfort zone 90-92, with average life. Sneaky deception is generated by a slower start to his windup delivery and his quick arm out front. Secondary offerings are all effective, especially a spiked breaking ball which he manipulates between an 82-84 slider shape and a hard curveball at 77-78 with an 11/5 break. Both pitches will flash average. He also mixes a straight changeup at 78-81 to left-handed hitters. Between his stuff, feel and pitchability, he should easily be a top ten round pick, most likely somewhere in the sixth to eighth rounds.
