+ LHP Mason Sommer (West Bend East, 2025; Bryant & Stratton CC) elevated himself among with his performance over the weekend. The arm action works clean and uninterrupted with quickness, while showing feel to repeat a simple delivery with 6.5 feet of extension. The 6-foot-4, 185 pound left-hander ran his fastball up to 91, sitting 88-90 throughout his ‘pen. Showed feel to land two secondary offerings in the zone, a tight breaking curveball that was up to 78 mph and a low-80s fading changeup. Lively look for the left-hander that could generate late MLB Draft buzz heading into the spring.

Sommer would show a quality two-pitch mix during the Saturday evening time slot. Coming from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy and simple delivery, the fastball would sit low-80s and was paired with a 72-74 mph curveball. Projectable, 6-foot-5, 180-pound frame.

Hit: LHH. Rhythmic toe tap gather back, quality separation. Creates separation in the hands and moves into an uphill path, looks to elevate up the middle of the field, easy operation. 62.8 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 81.2 mph. 337' max distance.
Arm: LH. INF-82 mph. Loose, plays on the move.
Defense: Fields under midline, softness to hands, has feel around the bag, can turn the 3-6-3.

LHP/1B Mason Sommer (West Bend West, 2025) is a high-upside left hander who possesses one of the higher ceilings in the state. The 6-foot-5, 168-pound lefty has long levers with a lean and wiry build that seems capable of handling more strength. It’s an up-tempo delivery with a high leg-lift and athletic movement downhill, leading to a full arm action into a ¾ slot. Sommer sat in the mid-80s and topped at 85.7 mph on his fastball, showing a 4-seamer with life and a sinker with arm-side run. His upper-60s curveball has depth with some sweeping action, while his changeup sinks to the arm-side at 75-77 mph. Offensively, Sommer uses a rhythmic toe-tap, creating good separation to generate power. It’s a slightly uphill path that leads to balls hit in the air through the middle of the field. The West Bend native also showed good footwork around the bag at first base. The size and athleticism is there for Sommer, as he is certainly an intriguing uncommitted prospect inside of the Badger State.

6-foot-4, 165 pound tall and lanky lefty with room to put on muscle. Arm was long and loose from a ¾ slot. Delivery was easy and consistent. Fastball sat 80-82 mph with some carry. Sommer worked in a deceptive change-up in the low-70s that kept hitters off balance.
