2/13/21

Physical: Strong, durable frame standing in at 6-foot-4, weighting 230LBS. 7.26SEC 60-yard dash. Army Commit.

Offensively: RHH. Has a presence in the batters box and has very impressive measurables. Clocked event leading 111MPH exit velocity and 27.60 hand speed. The swing plays and utilizes a strong lower half. Begins with feet slightly wider than shoulder width and knees bent. Lower half is engaged throughout the swing. Slight leg hang during load, is a simple move that was consistently down on time. Hands work into a bow & arrow load. Swing is slightly downhill to flat through the hitting zone. Lots to like.

Defensively: Corner IF. For the size of the athlete moved around the bag very well. Fielded ball out in front and funneled to belt line with fluidity. Showed ability to work through the short hop. 90MPH across the INF. Mobility will be a vital part of success at the next level, although you cannot deny the power on both sides of the baseball.

2/23/20

Campbell commit. Imposing 6-foot-4, 230-pound right-handed hitter took one of the better round of batting practice on the day. Starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Stays balanced while getting on plane early and creates consistent back spin with a very strong lower half. Continually hammered baseballs to the left side of the diamond. Registered a bat exit velocity of 94 mph and ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Showcased more than capable actions defensively with active feet and 86 mph arm strength across the diamond from third base.

2/24/19

Defensively, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound athlete works from his feet up. He displayed soft, confident hands that work extremely well within his body. A event best, 88 mph velocity across the diamond was recorded. He moves his feet well and gets his momentum moving towards his target with relative ease.

Offensively, Horowicz initiates his swing from a neutral athletic position. He displayed good balance and physical strength with considerable power. His hands are loose and in rhythm with his body. A 91 mph exit velocity off the tee was recorded, up from 86 at his last event in November.

On the mound, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound primary Third Basemen works out of a high 3/4 slot. He shows overall good strength and the ability to create tilt towards his target. His delivery was low effort, repeatable, and displayed a FB that sat 84-86 mph with good action at the plate. His CB sat 72-73 mph to go along with a 77-78 mph CH. Overall, Horowicz athleticism and overall strength make him one of the top prospects in the 2021 Class in West Virginia.

11/18/18

Defensively, Horowicz displayed a solid glove and soft hands. He moves his feet well while gaining ground to throw towards his target. His transfer is smooth and displayed a 83 mph velocity across the infield.

Offensively, his athletic frame shows potential to continue to add mass and flexibility. He initiates his swing from a athletic, open stance. Horowicz displayed loose, free hands that created solid bat speed. A 85 mph exit velocity was registered.

On the mound, he works out of a high 3/4 slot. He shows good strength and the ability to create tilt towards his target. His delivery was repeatable and displayed a FB that sat 82-84 mph with good action at the plate. His CB sat 69-71 to go along with a 76-77 mph CH. Overall, Horowicz athleticism and arm strength make him a player to follow in the 2021 Class.

7/11/18

Defensively, glove hand is soft and confident while working bottom up and out front. Feet are active to and through the baseball. Transfer is clean and throwing motion has length. Horowicz showcased 79 mph arm strength on throws across the diamond.

Offensively, the 6-foot-4 190-pound, right-handed hitter initiates swing from open set up with short, controlled stride to neutral. Separation is solid. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. Swing path is slightly uphill. Hands are loose and work directly in achieving substantial barrel whip. An advanced for age 86 mph bat exit velocity was registered. Overall, Horowicz shows early signs of developing into a solid next level offensive player.

On the mound, works out of mid 3/4 arm slot. Arm action is long and loose while demonstrating solid downhill plane consistent with 6-foot-4 frame. Delivery is moderate effort and there was some difficulty repeating from the wind up on this day. Fastball sat 81-82 mph demonstrating consistent arm side run. Curveball at 69 flashed good depth, 11/5 shape and was commanded. Changeup at 75-76 was thrown with good sell and fade while being inconsistently commanded. Developing arm quickness, athleticism and frame make Horowicz an arm to follow in the Class of 2021.
