2020 Uncommitted Arms To Follow

Shooter Hunt

Moving on from the recently released 2019 Overall Rankings, On the Hunt looks at a collection of uncommitted 2020 pitchers. Each of the arms on this list show plenty of upside, and may have a chance to make a considerable jump in the spring.

Dillon Janac RHP / College Station, TX / 2020

Long and lean at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, Janac has a frame that oozes projection. The tall right-hander gets the most out of his frame as he drives fastballs to the bottom of the zone on a downhill plane. Currently, he works in the upper 80s (87-89) with the pitch that delivers out from a high ¾ slot with a clean arm stroke, but there is likely much more to come as he continues to fill out. The potential “game changer” for Janac will be his sharp, near 12/6, curveball that he throws aggressively with tight spin at 80-81. The pitch has a chance to be plus, and is already a swing and miss weapon that he uses to put hitters away. The future appears to be very bright for Janac, and should he make another jump in velocity this spring, he could be one of the bigger draft names coming out of Texas in 2020.
