2026 NorCal Uncommitted Games: Quick Hits

 Sacramento, CALIF - On Saturday, September 19th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the NorCal Uncommitted Games in Sacramento, CA. This was an event for 2028-2027 graduates and that gave our staff and college coaches a look at the area's top uncommitted prospects.

Over 50 players made their way to Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, CA and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Today, we will be looking at some standout performers from the event, found below.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Max Guth SS / 2B / Yuba City High, CA / 2027

Guth showed up to our NorCal ProCase at the beginning of the summer, the scrappy infield has improved all ove his numbers and continued to show why he’s one of the more talented uncommitted 2027 infielders in all of northern CA. The kid can flat out play, right now Guth portrays as more of a 2B/3B, his hit tool is going to always play, everytime I’ve gotten eyes on Guth, he hits. During the gameplay portion of the day, Guth started his day off with a BOMB to right field off a pretty good arm. He continued to take quality hacks on the day, his actions at shortstop have gotten a lot cleaner, if his arm continues to get stronger, he can stay on the left side.

Ben Hayden SS / 2B / De LA Salle High School, CA / 2027

Hayen comes from the Bay Area and goes to De La Salle High School, where he was solidified as one of their main players towards the end of the year, hitting #3 hole in their last playoff game. Hayden is an all around player, no doubt in my mind this kid will help a college team. There’s nothing that jumps off the page about him, he’s a guy where you can put him anywhere and he will get the job done. Hayden has speed, his 60 was at a 6.76 during the running portion of the workout. He can stay on the left side, his arm is strong enough to play it. The swing is a bit unorthodox but he gets the barrel to the ball. His BP was impressive where he showcased a lot of his pop, in the game he was another guy who hit a homerun that went way over the LF fence.

Gunner Church SS / 2B / West Valley Early College HS, CA / 2027

Church comes from the Redding, CA area and I heard he put up a good summer, so it was exciting to see him in person for the first time. Church is a gamer, it’s tough being from a smaller area but this kid is a D1 player, whether that’s in the outfield or the infield, he can do both. Church plays the game really aggressively, it translated into the game where he unleashed a ball over the LF fence for a homerun. Church was putting on a show during BP as well, on defense he turned a nice double play with Guth, and showed his arm off. He also had the best 60 yard dash time of the event.

Colin Crvarich C / OF / De LA Salle High School, CA / 2028

First time ever getting eyes on Crvarich and he was very impressive behind the dish, and just overall athletically. With so much talent coming out of De La Salle High School, Crvarich has one of the strongest arms I’ve seen in the ‘28 class. He’s a guy with a lot more in game reps, he’s going to be one to watch out for. Offensively, the swing is sound and has the potential to turn and have a lot more power. You just don't see many guys who have that kind of arm, big year for the JR catcher from the Bay.

Jayden Hernandez C / 3B / Elk Grove High, CA / 2028

Hernandez comes from Elk Grove High School where he is a multi sport athlete in baseball and basketball, he’s got some big league bloodlines from his dad as well. Our staff got to see Hernandez this Spring and he’s continued to show his improvement every time. He’s put on some muscle, the arm has gotten a lot stronger, his pop time is down to a 1.88 now and the velo is at 80 mph. His swing is compact, stays short too and long through, he put up multiple homeruns during the BP rounds. Schools need to start hopping on this kid because he is an impact guy who can really hit and defend. Plus athleticism.
