Not only did he post some impressive data/stats such as 88 mph INF arm and 95.8 mph max EV, but he backed up an impressive BP round with even more impressive live game hitting, going 4-for-6 with a pair of singles, home run, and double. He's a 3.76 student and was the breakout player at the event.

Player Information

  • High School: Las Plumas
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Chico Aces
  • Height: 5-10
    Weight: 190lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
One of California's top uncommitted players, his catch/throw game is strong and he has one of the top arms (81 mph) among 2023 catchers in the state. He was a standout at ProCase and at BAWS Uncmtd his bat was loud, going 3-for-6, w/two singles and a triple. No doubt he can play at D1 level.

Connor Harrison

Class of 2023 / C

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: C
    Secondary Position: 1B
  • High School: De La Salle
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Trosky National Team 2023
  • Height: 6-3
    Weight: 210lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
A physical RBI-man type of hitter, he will be in the middle of De La Salle's line-up this spring, helping the Spartans contend for another title. He can catch and play 1B, makes competitive pop throws, but when all said and done, it's the juice in the bat and the ability to produce runs that stands out loudest. Went 2-for-3 in the game he played in with a triple to RCF and double to LCF. Punishes mistake pitches and routinely performs well in games.

    Secondary Position: 2B

  • Summer Team: West Coast Kings 2023, Alpha Power 2023
  • Height: 5-11
    Weight: 160lbs

The raw tools are there, the strength will come and when that happens, there is a big time player lying just under the surface. Ran 6.78 then showed in the game action that he has the hit tool to get to that plus run tool. Stays in middle of field well, went 4-for-5 in game action with four singles, three of them right through the middle. Accurate thrower, athleticism plays well in CF. 3.57 student.

Atticus Gonzalez

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023

    Secondary Position: 3B
  • High School: St. Joseph Notre Dame
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Show California
  • Height: 5-11
    Weight: 195lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
Another of the very good uncommitted catchers in the 2023 class, he's routinely showed us not only real talent (pops as low as 1.95, 78 mph arm), and bat talent that shows in TrackMan data and in games (went 2-for-5, 2B, HR), but also has the make-up that is a difference maker for a team. Pitchers love throwing to him, his interaction with them and teammates in dugout is exactly what coaches look for in the character of a player.

Carston Pearson

Class of 2023 / OF

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: OF
    Secondary Position: 1B
  • High School: Dublin
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Headfirst Bercovich Honors 23
  • Height: 6-0
    Weight: 180lbs
  • Bat/Throw: L/L
One of the more talented LHH who remain uncommitted in the state. He's not just a legitimate hitter with impact talent, but he's also a plus runner (6.81) who plays with the type of motor that is definitely noticeable, particularly in a showcase-game scenario when many kids go through the motions. His talents are easy to appreciate, his tenacity and passion match the talents. One of the MLB scouts in attendance took particular notice of Pearson. 3.80 GPA.

Paul Contreras

Class of 2023 / OF

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: OF
    Secondary Position: OF
  • High School: Gregori
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: EJ Sports
  • Height: 6-2
    Weight: 180lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
A live long athletic body, he's impossible to miss when scanning the field for bodies and actions. Ran 6.90 with an 86 mph OF throw, then watching him run out a triple he smoked to RCF, it's there where you can see the athleticism and picture his ceiling. Went 2-for-5 with four of the at-bats being good. The same MLB scout who took notice of Pearson also took a strong liking to Contreras.

Dominic Giusti

Class of 2023 / OF

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: OF
    Secondary Position: 3B
  • High School: Franklin
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Best Speed Baseball 18u Elite
  • Height: 5-10
    Weight: 160lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
Another outstanding player at Franklin HS, Giusti can play any position on the field and do so in an above average manner. He's not the biggest body, but the swing is clean and results in consistently hard hit balls, with ability to hit multiple pitches and in multiple locations. Went 3-for-6 and all ABs were good (1B, E5, 2B, 6-3, 2B, F8). Strike-thrower on the mound as well. The kind of player championship teams have, a talented glue-guy. 3.60 GPA

Bryse Bentley

  • High School: Granite Bay
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: SSC
  • Height: 6-1
    Weight: 195lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
Physically imposing body, solid arm (83 mph) as a left side infielder and showed not only impressive talent in BP with big numbers, but then in game action he doubled and homered and showed a lot of strong strike zone discipline. Feels like he has a breakout season coming for a talented Granite Bay HS team.

Ben Johnston

Class of 2023 / C

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: C
    Secondary Position: 3B
  • High School: Granada
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Headfirst Bercovich 2023 Honors
  • Height: 6-3
    Weight: 190lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
The group of uncommitted catchers at the event was ridiculously good. Count Johnston as one of them. He's long and lanky and athletic (ran 7.29) and his catching tools are clear (77 mph, pops 2.03-2.07). He swung bat well and has more power coming as he gets stronger (went 2-for-5 w/a double and five good at-bats). The make-up and love of catching/playing was also apparent, as he was asked to catch ALL day, pens for both teams and warm-ups for both teams.

Marcus Maeder

Class of 2023 / RHP

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: RHP
    Secondary Position: OF
  • High School: Colfax
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: CBA SSC North
  • Height: 6-3
    Weight: 170lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
The ceiling and projectability of this right-hander is HIGH. He's long and lanky, he appears to still be quite young in physical development (young young face) and then watching how the arm works (sling-shot quick) with BIG-TIME spin numbers on the curveball and slider (2700-2800), with a quick FB that has more steam coming down the road (2523 max spin), he's got a chance to be a weekend pitcher at the major college level with a bit more physical development. 3.90 GPA

Zane Baltz

Class of 2023 / RHP

Player Information

  • Graduating Class: 2023
  • Primary Position: RHP
    Secondary Position: OF
  • High School: Heritage
    State: CA
  • Summer Team: Zoots
  • Height: 6-4
    Weight: 225lbs
  • Bat/Throw: R/R
Very impressive performance for the burly 6-foot-4 225-lb right-hander. He buzzed through the hitters he faced with his repertoire that includes a FB up to 88.5 mph (2248 max spin) and feel of a mid-70s slider. He comes right at hitters, has an unflappable demeanor that seems very genuine, and the overall gut feel is that no matter what role he might have in college, starter or reliever (closer?), he's going to have the stuff and HAS the make-up. 3.95 GPA
