Central Valley Preseason I.D.: Stats Leaders

FRESNO, CA - Our inaugural venture into California's Central Valley led us to Fresno City College for the Central Valley ID Showcase, which featured 43 players (all but one uncommitted) primarily from Fresno and the surrounding areas, but also players from Sacramento to San Diego. The event was STRONG with 2022 grads and was also well attended by 2020 and 2021 players.

The event featured our PBR workout with 60 yard dash, hitting stations including exit velocity (off a tee) and live on-field BP, defensive workouts at the players' primary positions, and at the end of the day, bullpen sessions for the pitchers.

We saw some impressive testing performances during the day, including some 90+ exit velocities (and many well over 85 mph), a high outfield throw of 85 mph to go with a few other 80+ mph throws, and a handful of 80+ mph infield velocities. Six of the seven catchers registered throws in the 70s and the pop times were quite competitive.

On the mound we had quite a few younger pitchers standout and some of the best were left-handers in the 2022 class. The top overall fastball velocity was 88 mph from 2020 RHP Isaac Ayon, the lone committed (Saint Mary's College) player at the showcase. Ayon also posted the top infield velocity (85) and the top exit velocity (94). Some of the better young pitchers are not reflected in these stats but they will certainly be included in our quick hits and post event breakdowns.

Please keep in mind that on January 13th most players are still ramping up toward getting in shape for their season and are NOT in their very best form quite yet.
