The Regular Season is wrapping up, teams are making a push for the playoffs.  Here is a look at action from around the state from yesterday.

Mullen (12-3) 5 Smoky Hill (8-7) 3
Smoky Hill went up 3-0 after one inning but that is all they could score vs Mullen.  Mullen pitcher Rocco Porreco (2017) after giving up the 3 runs pitch 5 more innings of shutout baseball, with 7 K’s. 

Columbine (9-8) 8 Bear Creek (7-10) 2
Bear Creek could only get 4 hits vs Columbine pitching is the league contest. 

Cherokee Trail (9-4) 11 Grandview (11-3) 4
Leading 5-3 going into the 4th inning Cherokee Trail took advantage of some Grandview mistakes and scored 4 runs in the 4 to put the game away.  The Cougars were led by Michael Morris (2017) who had 2 RBI’s, as did Matt Meraz (2016) and Nick Perez (2017).  The Cougars gave Grandview their first league loss.

Mountain Vista (5-9) 9 Highlands Ranch (7-8) 8
Vista’s Cooper Shearon (2016) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and Cole Blatchford (2017) was 1 for 3, 2 RBI’s and a homerun to lead Mountain Vista over Highlands Ranch. 

Lakewood (13-4) 16 Chatfield (9-8) 6
Chase Powell (2016) for Lakewood was 2 for 3, with a homerun, and 4 RBI’s, and Troy Alston (2017) went 3 for 5 with 4 RBI’s to lead the Tigers.

Rocky Mountain (10-4) 14 Greeley West (2-13) 1
Rocky scored 9 runs in the 3rd to put the game away, and pitcher John Sorensen (2017) pitched 4 innings allowing no earned runs while striking out 7.

Silver Creek (13-3) 13 Greeley Central (6-10) 3
Silver Creek’s Cole Winn (2018) pitched 6 innings allowing just 3 runs (2 in the first inning) and had 9 strikeouts to lead Silver Creek over Greeley Central.

Mountain View (13-2) 8 Centaurus (4-11) 0
Mountain View’s Ivan Thomas (2017) led the way for his team by going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and a homerun.
