FREMONT, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Caden Sta Maria, Bellarmine College Prep (CA), 2023

: 6-0, 200-pounds; Broad shouldered, full build. 7.35 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; flat bat to start. Extended take back of the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a sweeping swing path with two handed finish. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 98 MPH via Trackman. Powerful hitter, has HR power, intent-filled swing, hunting/collide at contact type of approach.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Short take back while using various arm slots. 1B - 70 MPH. Moved around calmly and smoothly, versatile thrower, generally accurate on feeds, showed short hop pick skills, worked bag confidently.

Jack Schlicher, California (CA), 2024

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 97 MPH via Trackman. Physical hitter with bat/barrel control to make consistently hard contact and get to the power tool.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are underneath the body while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle while using various arm slots. 1B - 70 MPH. Moved around confidently, gets ball underway quickly and easy for MIF to handle, able to throw on move, has good body control, extends during the stretch at the bag.

Marcus Rivera, Moreau Catholic (CA), 2022

Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with an exaggerated leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with one-handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 96 MPH via Trackman. Powerful stroke, creates lift with loft carry, consistently found sweet spot with impactful contact.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while showing active feet. Hands are soft with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle while using various arm slots. 1B - 76 MPH. Light feet, confident actions, accurate feeds while getting ball underway quickly, works below ball at the bag while staying in his legs.

Noah Morton, Washington (Fremont, CA), 2023

Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; flat bat to start. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Creates aggressive attack angle, consistent hard barrel contact with loft carry type power, on-plane efficiency was outstanding, ample bat and hand speed.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Short take back from a low 3/4 arm slot. 1B - 70 MPH. Focused defender, squares up to ball well at the bag, gets feeds underway with urgency and accuracy, on time with footwork.

Dylan Lee, California (CA), 2023

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; upright bat position. Loads straight back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman. Maintains body control throughout a physical swing, aggressive attack angle, has strength to produce power, lets the swing work easily vs red-lining it.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are underneath the body while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 3B - 80 MPH. Light feet, showed adequate range to left and right, coordinated actions, presents himself as a confident defender, soft hands, accurate throws.

Yulian Aviles, Washington (Fremont, CA), 2024

Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Loads straight back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish with occasional top hand release. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 88 MPH via Trackman. Worked with approach to spray the ball around with a contact oriented approach, showed on-plane consistency with hand speed and bat speed projecting future power.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; walks into ready position while playing low to the ground. Hands are underneath the body while staying low during transfer. Long arm swing from a low-3/4 arm slot. 1B - 70 MPH. Loose arm, comfortable throwing on the move, occasional up to down as ball gets into his body, shows focus and sense of urgency.

Kasey Frieholtz, Washington (Fremont, CA), 2024

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat to start. Extended take back of the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish with occasional top hand release. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 84 MPH via Trackman. Starts in somewhat of a crouch, not much to the mechanics, simple approach with peppering spray focus, on-plane efficiency was consistent throughout the round.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are soft with a clean transfer. Short take back while using various arm slots. 3B - 70 MPH. Arm action ranged from OH to low-3/4 depending on the play, quick release, efficient actions, focused with feel for the position.
