New Episode LIVE now! - At The Yard Podcast
CHICO, CALIF. - Our Preseason ID series continued last weekend, at the Chico Bullpen indoor facility (shoutout thank you to Chico Aces). We have more stops coming up over the next three Sundays (Peninsula, South Bay, East Bay), we'd love to see you out there! There are players who attended who will be receiving invitations to some of our most exclusive event opportunities such as Future Games, California State Games, etc.
Players were put through the traditional showcase (with slight modifications as a result of moving the event indoors due to weather) workout that included the 30-yard dash (w/10-yard split as well), hitting session, defensive session, concluded with pitchers throwing a 15-20 pitch pen session.
In the coming days we’ll begin to roll out statistical leaders, categorical leaders, scouting reports, and much more. Today it's the final data/metrics post, featuring Swift Technology.
Prep Baseball Report events across the country have been powered by Swift Performance industry-leading portable system to capture pinpoint accurate, actionable data from player performances as it pertains to speed and athletic testing. Prep Baseball Report and Swift Labs are dedicated to recognizing talent and unleashing their potential.
At the event all participants are tested on the Swift Performance EZE JUMP to measure RSI and vertical jump allowing glimpses into the players current athleticism. The sequencing of the test varies based on what is being administered. In addition to the jumpmat, position players were put through a laser timed 60 yard dash. Also measured using Swift Labs state of the art laser system were 10 and 30 yard splits providing further insight into current athleticism and potential.
This data goes directly into the player profiles allowing the PBR Staff, college coaches and professional scouts alike to evaluate and compare prospects on a national scale.
(Note: All showcase videos have been added to player profiles)
