FRESNO, CALIF. - Our Preseason ID series kicked off last weekend in Fresno, at DIB Baseball Academy. We have four more stops coming up over the next four Sundays (Far North, Peninsula, South Bay, East Bay) and look forward to again seeing players we know of and those we will be introduced to. There are sure to be players in attendance in the coming events who will be receiving invitations to some of our most exclusive event opportunities such as Future Games.

At the Fresno Preseason ID event players went through the traditional showcase (with slight modifications as a result of moving the event indoors due to weather) workout that included the 30-yard dash (w/10-yard split as well), hitting session, defensive session, concluded with pitchers throwing a 15-20 pitch pen session. This piece highlights the pitching data.

In the coming days we’ll push out other statistical leaders, categorical leaders, scouting reports, and much more.

Prep Baseball Report California events across the country have been powered by TrackMan’s industry-leading portable system to capture pinpoint accurate, actionable data from player performances. Prep Baseball Report and TrackMan are dedicated to recognizing talent and unleashing their potential.

At the event all pitchers pitches were monitored through the portable Trackman B1 unit. Each player threw their complete arsenal of pitches allowing us to collect metrics such as release velocity, spin rate, vertical & horizontal movement and much more.

This data goes directly into the player profiles allowing the PBR Staff, college coaches and professional scouts alike to evaluate and compare prospects on a national scale.

Some of the advanced metrics gathered, available for subscribers to PBR Plus: effective velocity, max & avg IVB, max & avg horizontal movement, extension avg, release height avg, zone %

Spin Rate is defined as how fast the ball is spinning as it leaves the pitcher's hand, measured in "Revolutions per Minute or RPM"
