Our weekly Diamond Notes highlights other players that were nominated by their coaches for Northern California Player of the Week award. 

The following players had impressive performances during the week of May 7-13, and though not selected as the Player of the Week, they earned special recognition. Players are listed in no particular order.

2018 RHP/OF Dylan Fagundes (St. Mary's HS-Stockton): 8 IP on Monday in rivalry game vs Lincoln HS as SMHS won 3-2. Also doubled and drove in winning run in top of the 8th. For the week was 3-for-9 with 2 2B.

2018 C Jason Moran (Cardinal Newman HS-Santa Rosa): 3 games; Talented uncommitted catcher went 6-for-11 with a 2B, HR, 4 RBI, and 5 runs scored. 

2019 RHP Brandon Chalk (Vacaville HS): Was ONE out away from a perfect game vs crosstown rival Will C Wood HS, finished the game with a one-hit shutout in only 84 pitches.

2018 P/INF Angel Padilla (Stuart Hall HS-San Francisco): 3 games; Went 9-for-12 at the plate, 2 2B, 6 RBI, 2 Runs. Also 3 IP w/2 K, 0 R, and a W

2019 INF/P Austin Cappas (Weston Ranch HS-Stockton): In final 4 games of season went 12-for-16 with 3 BB, HBP, 4 2B, 7 RBI, 3 SB as well as pitching two perfect innings, as team went 3-1.
