PBR California

New Episode LIVE now! At The Yard Podcast

SAN JOSE, CALIF.Our Preseason ID series kept chugging along on Sunday 1/29/23, on the campus of Mission College in San Jose, in the shadow of Levi Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. We have one more stop on the Preseason ID tour, next Sunday (2/5/23) in the East Bay at Chabot College in Hayward. There are sure to be more players we will see who will garner consideration for invitations to the California State Games and to the Future Games.

Players were put through the traditional showcase workout that included the 60-yard dash (w/10 & 30-yard splits as well), hitting session, and a defensive session. There was no pitching session.

The coming days will have posts reflecting more statistical leaders via TrackMan and Swift Technology. Today it's the Blast Motion leaderboards.

ON-PLANE EFFICIENCY

Measures the percentage of your swing where the bat is on the swing plane. Your vertical bat angle at contact establishes the plane for that swing. Plane is a great indicator for making more consistent contact on the barrel of the bat. For more info: On Plane Efficiency

AVERAGE ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION

Measures how quickly your bat accelerates into the swing plane. Rotation is a good indicator of how you build bat speed by sequencing properly. The quicker your rotational acceleration, the more power you will have and the more time you have to adjust to pitch locations. For more info: Rotational Acceleration
