THE FIVE: Uncommitted 2022 SoCal Infielders

Les Lukach
State Scouting Director

In discussing players with our PBR colleagues from around the country recently we go on the topic of infielders, particularly middle infielders. And when we shared some names and talked about their abilities it led one scout to ask, "do middle infielders grow on trees in California?" While the answer is obviously no, it sure does seem that way at times.

With the way recruiting is trending with players committing to schools earlier and earlier, infielders are always a priority in the process and the many of them are getting snatched up earlier and earlier. However, as we've come to realize, there are always players that remain uncommitted heading into their junior and senior seasons that eventually make noise playing baseball on the next level. With that in mind, we thought it would be good to take a look at some junior infielders who may fall into that category some day.

In this issue of THE FIVE, we'll look at five infielders (listed in no particular order) who will, and in some cases, are already in the process of hearing from interested colleges.
