La Costa Canyon vs Mt. Carmel

2026 RHP/INF Kelle Leuck of Mt. Carmel (UCSD Signee) 

Kelle Leuck got the ball to start against La Costa Canyon today, getting it done on the mound for the Sundevils. The righty pitched 7 innings, allowed 3 runs, and struck out 13. The UCSD signee used a FB, CB, SL, and CH mix to weave his way through the Mavericks lineup. The FB was firm, maintaining its plane, and the SL/CB worked great off of it. The slider produced a lot of weak contact/ swing and miss, and the changeup dove into the back foot of the right-handed hitters. Leuck also helped out on offense as he tallied an RBI single to tie the game in the 3rd (1-1). The 6’3” righty has a big frame with room to add strength as he continues to play. Playing his 3rd year on varsity for the Sundevils, Leuck owns a .365 career average at the plate, and a 3.35 ERA on the mound. This season he is hitting .424 with a .527 OBP.
