MARK DOUGLAS

2028 RHP / 3B
HS: CARDINAL NEWMAN
POS: RHP/3B
CLASS: 2028
STATUS: UCLA

Mark Douglas has put together one of the more impressive developmental arcs in the 2028 class. The Cardinal Newman right-hander and third baseman added significant velocity, improved his secondary pitches, and continued to show two-way upside before committing to UCLA.

A projectable 6'3", 190-pound athlete with a loose arm and a four-pitch mix, Douglas has steadily climbed the velocity chart across multiple Prep Baseball events while also producing loud exit velocities at the plate.

VELOCITY PROGRESSION

Douglas’s fastball velocity has jumped dramatically over the past year, climbing from the mid-70s into the upper-80s with a major increase in spin.

CURRENT LOOK
MARK DOUGLAS
CARDINAL NEWMAN HS, CA / 2028 / RHP-3B | UCLA

Standing 6’3” and 190 lbs with a long, projectable frame, Douglas has added significant velocity (up to 89 mph) and spin while maintaining a four-pitch mix. He also brings two-way upside with strong exit velocities and the ability to play third base. After a rapid rise through Prep Baseball events, he committed to UCLA in October 2026.

2028 TO KNOW
Douglas’s velocity jump from the mid-70s to the upper-80s in roughly a year is one of the clearer developmental stories in the 2028 class. Combined with a projectable frame, improved secondaries, and two-way production, he earned a commitment to UCLA. He is a name that continues to trend in the right direction heading into his junior season.
