The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar rapidly approaches the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 RHP Taylor Werth out of Coronado High School. Werth is a lean framed athletic right-hander out of San Diego who has a whippy quick arm with upside on the mound. With a delivery that sequences well showing good use of his lower 1/2 while staying online through release and good intent there is plenty to like about the present ability for Werth, but you can dream on the potential of what he can become as he continues to add strength to his 6' 155 lbs. frame. His FB presently works at 84-86 MPH showing good ride through the zone with spin rates up to 2362 RPMs while adding in a pair of good breaking balls in his 70-72 MPH CB with average spin rates of 2753 RPMS and a 78-80 MPH SLD with spin rates averaging 2685 RPMS. Werth also features an intriguing mid 70's CHG which he shows a feel for killing the spin on with sink and fade the arm side. The profile shows starter potential with a 4 pitch mix, control of the strike zone and athleticism in the delivery, but with the potential in his breaking ball combination Werth could make a high leverage reliever with swing/miss potential breakers. College coaches should be keeping their eyes on Werth as he goes through the spring season and into the summer for their '25 class.

College coaches and fans be sure to click on Werth's profile to see full video and statistics.
