This week we look at the class of 2023 and update the rankings after the summer circuit has ended. Currently, there are 35 commits in the Top 100 for the class, with some talented players still developing and looking to find their fit. Below we will look at the Top 10, Others to Watch, Risers, and three Newcomers.

Top 10

Walker Martin SS / 3B / Eaton , CO / 2023

The Arkansas commit will stay at the top spot after a strong summer against top competition. The left-handed hitting shortstop is a plus athlete with real pop in the bat.


 

 

 

Max Stanley RHP / 1B / Douglas County, CO / 2023

The Texas A&M commit remains number two in the class, showcasing a low 90's fastball that has been up to 95. He is athletic with a fast arm and still has room to develop physically. His four-pitch mix includes a hard slider (82-5), a curveball (72-5), and a change-up.

 

 

 

 

 

Brok Eddy RHP / OF / Brighton, CO / 2023

The Arizona State commit lives consistently in the upper 80s with his fastball, with a plus curveball he can throw in any count. With his frame and athleticism, look for more to come from him.

 

 

 

Finley Bates SS / 3B / Douglas County, CO / 2023

The San Diego State commit knows how to play the game. He can hit for average and power, takes care of the ball defensively, and plays the game hard. He is a fun player to watch.

 

 

 

Tate Smith RHP / 1B / Eaton, CO / 2023

The Oklahoma State commit runs his fastball into the low 90s with a hard slider (79-82). With his stuff and frame, the potential is unlimited for him.

 

 

 

 

Chase Jaworsky OF / SS / Rock Canyon, CO / 2023

The recent Utah Valley commit can swing it. He knows how to find the barrel and has done it against many top arms. He can play multiple positions, but his athleticism should allow him to stay in the middle of the field. He still has room to fill out and will be an exciting player to follow.

 

 

 

Carson Tinney C / RHP / Valor Christian, CO / 2023

The Notre Dame commit is a physical specimen and a new edition to the Top 10. He works well behind the plate and shows plus arm strength. At the plate, he is looking to do damage and is very capable.

 

 

 

 

 

Ashtin Gilio 2B / OF / Alexander Dawson, CO / 2023

The Georgetown commit can hit, and he does it from both sides of the plate. He shows an advanced approach in the box and sprays the ball all over the field for average and power.

 

 

 

 

 

Holden Pantier SS / 3B / Erie, CO / 2023

The Wichita State commit is an intriguing athlete with present strength. He has an advanced approach at the plate, leading to the ability to hit for average and power. He can play multiple positions and plays the game hard.

 

 

 

Brandon Sanchez SS / 2B / Legacy, CO / 2023

The recent Northern Colorado commit can play all over the field. He hits for average and power and plays fast when on the field. He is a ballplayer.

 

 

Others to Watch

Jacob Syverson RHP / C / Holy Family, CO / 2023

The Missouri State commit consistently runs his fastball in the upper 80s. He has an excellent feel for the breaking ball and will throw in any count. He is an athlete with a fast arm who competes and knows how to pitch. 

 

 

Hunter Gotschall RHP / OF / Douglas County, CO / 2023

The Hawaii commit can pitch. His four-pitch mix consists of a fastball (87-90), curveball, slider, and change-up. The curveball has depth and got a lot of swing and miss. Another good athlete with a fast arm who competes and knows how to pitch.

 

 

 

Risers

Trevor Landen RHP / SS / Heritage, CO / 2023

The recent Northern Colorado commit will go 87-90 with his fastball and a high spin curveball (72-5). He is athletic and loose, with room to fill into his 6-foot-3 frame. There is much to be excited about as he grows and gains more reps on the mound.

 

 

Samuel Pease C / OF / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2023

Another recent Northern Colorado commit can catch and throw. He is athletic, and it shows when he is behind the plate. With the bat, he competes and drives the ball around the field with a simple approach.

 

 

Noah Scott 3B / RHP / Broomfield, CO / 2023

The uncommitted two-way talent plays shortstop and will jump on the mound and fill up the zone at 86-7. He has a simple approach in the box with bat-to-ball skill. He knows how to play the game and will make the team better.

 

 

Carson Sherrill RHP / OF / Chatfield, CO / 2023

The uncommitted arm pitches at 87-89 with a good feel for his curveball and slider. He has a strong body with some effort in his delivery but shows the ability to pitch.

 

 

Anthony Treto RHP / SS / Brighton , CO / 2023

The uncommitted arm runs his fastball 87-90 with a hard slider with swing and miss potential. He is still developing and has room to fill out his 6-foot-2 frame.

 

 

Cade Kunz LHP / OF / Heritage, CO / 2023

The uncommitted lefty knows how to compete and has a feel for pitching. His fastball is 84-87, a slider thrown in any count, and a developing change-up. He has a strong body and a desire to continue to improve.

 

 

Newcomers

Laif Palmer RHP / OF / Golden, CO / 2023

The uncommitted pitcher jumped onto the scene at the West Coast Games with his four-inning performance. The  6-foot-6 righty attacked the zone with an 87-90 fastball and a slider with depth at 80-82. He is still developing and will be fun to watch as he progresses.

 

 

Seth Dreeszen RHP / 1B / Arvada West, CO / 2023

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound uncommitted pitcher is intriguing and has a lot of projection. Right now, his fastball is 84-87, with developing off-speed. He is currently a two-way, but with more development on the mound, there is a lot to dream on with him.

 

 

 

Sam Coffman RHP / SS / Bear Creek, CO / 2023

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound uncommitted pitcher is another intriguing arm that is still developing. His fastball is 84-87, topping at 88. He throws his slider at 77-78 and a curveball at 71-72. He is a strong kid who has put a lot of work into his craft and will continue to improve and progress.
