Scouting Report
Neal, an LSU recruit who reclassed from 2023, is packed with strength in his 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame and he has the confidence to match. He has always played against older competition and shown he belongs, with an impactful left-handed swing that can drive the ball to all fields. Coupled with his potential to hit for average and power, Neal is a field general, controlling the game from behind the plate with strong catch-and-throw skills.
Neal reclassified from 2023, but has always shown he can handle himself with older competition. That showed again at the Preseason Classic, where he was 3-for-8 with two triples. He shows a good approach at the dish and consistently gets the barrel to the ball. He shows the ability to hit the ball to all fields with loud contact. Behind the plate, he impressed with his catch-and-throw ability, as well his blocking skills and overall control of the game.
The LSU commit has a stocky, strong frame with big tools. He’s really quick behind the plate with an above average arm at 79 down to second. Elite 1.85-1.91 pop times during the workout portion. Offensively, he has strength in the lower half from the left side and power potential. When he connects, you can already see the big pop in the bat. Reached 90+ EV.
