This Saturday, September 7, PBR Florida will hold its Fall ProCase at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The Florida ProCase has become one of the premier showcases at Prep Baseball Report. This event allows the top incoming seniors to showcase their talents in front of the Florida pro scouts before they start their senior high school seasons. This year, we have invited some of the top sophomores and juniors in the state to the Fall ProCase as well.

There have been four players drafted in the top five rounds of the MLB Draft to have attended the Florida ProCase in previous years. The biggest of them all was Mason Denaburg, who was taken in the 1st round of the 2018 draft by the Washington Nationals. Another ProCase alum was Freddy Tarnok. He was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 3rd round of the 2017 draft. Sam McMillan attended the first Florida ProCase in 2016. He was selected in the 5th round of the 2017 draft by the Detroit Tigers. And just last year, Tyler Callihan was selected in the 3rd round of the 2019 draft by the Cincinnati Reds. Today, we will take a look at some of the top prospects that will be in attendance at the Florida Fall ProCase.

Starting with our 2020’s, we have two players returning from our last ProCase in May. McGwire Holbrook (West Virginia) and Joaquin Monque (USF) were both standouts behind the plate during our summer ProCase. Both are big-bodied catchers with present pull-side power.

The top player in attendance will be 2020 Miami recruit, C Carlos Perez. Perez is currently the 24th ranked player in the Florida 2020 class. His tools offensively and defensively have helped him become one of the best backstops in the country.

Florida recruit, Tyler Shelnut is an athletic two-way player who stood out at the PBR Florida State Games this summer. He has an impact bat and above average defensive tools as well as a fastball that runs up to 87 mph on the mound.

Two other standout 2020 infielders that will be in attendance are Reynaldo Hernandez (FIU) and Malik Young (Winthrop). Hernandez is a stocky left-handed bat with the ability to make consistent hard contact and drive the ball to all fields. Young, a former Future Gamer, is a good defender at short with a compact swing that produces hard contact all around the field.

In the outfield is 2020 Miami commit, Albert Hernandez. Hernandez has an impact right-handed bat with fast hands and gap-to-gap power. A two-way player as well with a fastball that has topped at 92 mph.

Four of the top 50 2021 players in Florida will be in attendance with Xavier Cintron (FIU), Kenneth Eccleston (Miami), Zachary Ehrhard, and Jackson Mayo. Clemson commit, Colby Shelton will also be in attendance. He is the 5th ranked player in the Florida 2022 class and the top ranked shortstop.

There will be a ton of talent on display this weekend at IMG Academy. To view the entire roster as well as more information on the Florida ProCase CLICK HERE.
